I expect Pardew to stay unless we're really in the mire. Top 17 is minimum requirement for us you want to be improving every season so realistically we should be pushing for top 10. Shola or Xisco? Could do you a deal and give you Perch as well
I think we'd all be happy to survive first and foremost. I expect we'll finish somewhere between 11th and 15th. We should have enough to stay up but we're a little behind the top half teams due to financial restrictions. I think Pardew will stick around. They like him because he's their choice, and he is on the lowest wage in the league. I doubt the board were too enamoured with his comments on the Barton situation or his comments regarding players being unhappy because they want to see some players signed, but I alos doubt they would have enraged them much. I think as fans we have grown used to backing whichever 11 is on the field and whoever is in charge because we know our opinions count for little. There is no community feel to the club at present which is a shame but only natural when there is a big business drive to reduce debts and get our house in order.
Well, 2 games aside, I hope it's a good season for you. Goodness knows you've had a bit to put up with! As for us, so many of our players are completely untested at Prem level, it's hard to make to solid a prediction. But, (pre-season optimism aside) I genuinely really do think we'll have enough to stay up. Lambert's added to the squad in such a way that, although the signings aren't household names, they've brought what looks like a really good balance to the squad, and created options and competition everywhere. There's a cliche about his players that they're young and hungry, with a point to prove, but it's true. There's also more quality in there than I think a lot of people outside Norwich realise. We're going to surprise a few, I think, and while it's probably going to be a long old slog, I've got a good feeling we'll be in the prem fixtures next season. Don't mention Shola in connection with Norwich. The times he's been 'seen' in our Asda/Tesco/Sainsbury's over the years is untrue!!
I reckon Norwich will be ok, Lambert is a smart manager for me and has a good understanding of the game. The league is tough and it'll be even tougher this year as I'd be surprised if the likes of Villa, Liverpool and Everton make such horrendous starts. It made the league pretty tight last year and a run of wins saw you leapfrog right up the table. I think it be more like the old 4 tier system next year. Top 4 or 5 challenging for the league, a band of about 4 for Europe, 4 or 5 comfortably in mid tabel and the rest in a free for all! The start will be key for all promoted teams. If you get off to a bad start it can be hard to recover.
Spot on. We really need to hit the ground running, could have done without Chelsea away coming so early on though! I don't know what the fixtures are like for Swansea or QPR, but we've got a right pig of run in. From april we go Everton H, Tottenham A, Man City H, Blacburn A, Liverpool H, Arsenal A, Villa H. Let's just say I hope we've picked up some decent points before then!
Greetings Norwich fans. Was at your place last season in November (I think) for the Burnley match where you equalised right at the death. Good match. My mates a Norwich fan hence the visit. Then had a night on the town, the Prince of Wales Indian (or somewhere like that), few bars then onto a strip club where the VIP lap dance was funking top drawer! Anyway, our transfer policy is as has been said (try saying that quickly) - buy players with good re-sale potential / value. Not really the worst thing in the world, but this should only play one factor in the transfer - not define it. With the cost of Holt I doubt we'd ever sell him for more. And why would he leave Norwich where he is almost guaranteed to start 38 PL games? If he impresses he may get a move in summer. Where will we finish? The squad is good, just lacking a few crucial elements. We can't wait for Ben Arfa to be playing week in week out again (as long as we don't rush him) as he'll be the attacking flair we desperately need. Marveaux looks like a decent prospect and Cabaye looks bloody class. Him and Tiote will be unreal in midfield. Plus young Gosling is back fit again. If Jose and Joey go we need two in. And a striker. But with the current squad I'd be dissapointed to finish lower than last season. But first priority is still to hit 40 points ASAP - it took us a little longer than initially seemed last season and we were still looking over our shoulder for a lot of the second part of it. Lots of teams around and below us have been very slow in the transfer market to date so the next few weeks will be interesting. The likes of Everton, Fulham, Wolves, WBA, Bolton don't look any better than last season so expect a lot of activity near the end of the window, and hopefully some on our part. Good luck this season, I usually get to at least one Norwich game per year.
To right. Why would he go to Blackburn? Does he like chicken?
Bullshit , McNally already quashed rumours of our top goalscorer captain and talisman leaving last week when Leicester were supposedly in for him. Besides Newcastle only sign French reserves .
Yeah, like Cabaye who captained the French champions Lille last season. What a reserve player to capture.
FRINGE players...........Newcastle are a crisis club going from one mess to another, i feel sorry for the fans
ben arfa is a full international hes just been out with injury, shame really as he just broke the first team when he picked up some injurys. just to let you know ben arfa when he signed was one of the hottest prospects in world football. the only reason we got him was because teams were put off because of his poor attitude and behaviour. cabaye has just broke the team too, and captained lille to champs league and was one of the best players in the league last year, why he came here i have no idea. then we have the highly rated marveaux who man u and liverpool were looking at the last 2 years, one of the hottest prospects in frnce, possibly obertan will be arriving who was touted as the next ronaldo, but has failed to get in the united first team whivh is difficult. still hes a regular france u21 international and i think he was rated player of the tournament in the england u21 european championships. not all bad then.
It's MA mate, not us. Though I do agree that we should buy young. At the end of the day, prices are so high for players in the prem you need to make plenty on sales to improve. Would'nt mind if we churned out a few more £35 million sales, provided the money actually came back in. Though this doesn't really appear to be the case, so this argument is highly flawed. The ideas they are trying to sell are good, if they would stick to them. Excuse me, off to get rope.
lol Do you really support Norwich? I remember most of their fans being level headed. Never mind, I suppose we are all blighted by "fans" like you. Your fans I feel sorry for mate. Nice though, restating that after it had already been thrown straight back in your face by Smudge and Why Aye Cabaye
