    Don't you believe it - wishful thinking.......<laugh>.

'Udders are the best all round Championship side I've seen this season - that is up until last night. That excellent Sheffield Wednesday performance must rank as the best we've encountered so far and they're looking a very good bet for a playoff spot.

The OP on the thread is about dark horse contenders for the top 6, not Championship winners.

Looks like Newcastle and Norwich are steaming but Huddersfield will be in the top 6 mix. <ok>

    Back on track..................

    Huddersfield boss David Wagner:

"I am angry that after two defeats I have to answer questions about the character of my players.

"At Huddersfield we are humble; we know where we come from. Eleven months ago I came here and I lost my first two games and we were in a relegation battle.

"Now we under-perform in one game against Preston and people question us. I am angry when I read that we need a new striker. That is not correct."

"We are Huddersfield Town and we are a long-term project. We have won nine from 14 and we have under-performed once."

I was going to comment that Fulham would be the most inconsistent side in the Championship then I thought about it - so many sides like Fulham who can be great one week and crap the next, makes the Championship good to watch I suppose

Huddersfield were top not so long ago with a reasonable points lead,(can't remember the exact figure),and now they are 6th and 11 points off the top.

The Championship proving, yet again, to be so unpredictable, and very exciting.

Not so exciting for those teams at the bottom, of course, but the unpredictability factor gives much hope to the stragglers.

I beg to differ somewhat on that point Vetch.

In some way it's perversley more enjoyable to endure this relegation scrap rather than the mid table stodge served up by Slade for nearly two seasons. I accept Trollope got us into this mess this year and not Slade, but with Warnock now at the helm, at least the fight is on.

Mind you, I'd prefer to be competing at the other end of the table, but at least there's a purpose about our games at the moment if not the right results.

Having said that, I still can't wait to be mid table again...........<laugh>

Warnock will attract the players in January. That's when we should start too see a run. I'm under no illusion or delusion that we will get anywhere near the top six and will be very very happy with safety this season, but I can definitely see players wanting to play for NW and he will already have his sights set on targets and is probably pushing for a transfer budget to get his men.

Take your point re relegation scraps being exciting. Of course they are. I've witnessed enough of them down the years.
The Championship usually has a great deal of drama attached to it, and this season will no doubt provide the same knuckle ride as ever.
Warnock is as good a Manager in The Championship as any other.
