With Izaguirre picking up an injury yesterday he is due to miss up to 6 months of approx a 9 month season, a bit like Hinkel last season with his long term injury.

Celtic are also in trouble with defensive rock Glen Loovens looking at facing 6-8 weeks on the sidelines and Rogne failing to maintain a decent fitness level. Then there is the ongoing problem with getting a new goalkeeper in with many not convinced with either Zaluska or Cervi.

Celtic could have put Rangers to the sword last season and Lennon has said himself that if he fails to bring the title back to Parkhead this season then he will no doubt be sacked.

Looks like it could be another tough season again for them unless they make some changes and get some defensive cover in.

lennon has it in hand i am sure. Not so sure about loovens being a defensive rock though, lol, and we have plenty of cover at centre back.

Yes we're struggling for cover, Matthews and Wilson can both play LB and have done so before, Mulgrew played at LB several times last season and he played LB with Wolves and Aberdeen. So we only have 3 players to fill in. What a crisis.

Thanks for your touching concern though.

I believe Ledley and Brown have played in that position too. Like you say, crisis.

Aye we're struggling here, nice to see the Gers fans have sympathy for Izzy though....even though they never actually said that i'm going to assume that's what they meant.

It's probably the first time in our recent history that we haven't needed a new LB <laugh>

Pedro Mendes is a might man, one day a religious zealot, next day a bigot, now he has become public relations officer of bad news from Celtic.
Pedro is confident that he is fully qualified as he once spent one hour at a first aid class, so no doubt we should accept his knowledgeable medical
    reports.
As a Rangers supporter Pedro would prefer to give good news about Rangers and he does at every opportunity unfortunately for Pedro it has been some
months since he has had any to report.

Wow, what an insight there medro?

Injuries happen, id rather it happened now with a bit of the window opened to get in a replacement if Lenny deems necessary -although i liked the look of Mathews to be honest so would have no fear with him, mulgrew or Wilson at left back if need be, so not sure a replacement is needed.

As for the keeper we'll we've known we've needed a keeper since Boruc left so im sure they are looking into this issue

And? I'd rather they took their time and made sure whoever they sign is better than anyone else at the club.

Like rangers - i mean they bought Ortiz as he's.....erm

I mean like Wallace cuz Papac was ****e....or will be ****e....or might retire someday....or we can play him on the left wing as opposed to a promising youngster in wylde

We have goalkeepers on the books. We dont need one as such

We coudl use a better one - no doubting that - however if we cant afford one better than Zaluska i'd rather they took 5 years to find one who actually is better than buy for the sake of it and hope he is better.

We could have signed Petloska and others have been linked- but clearly not considered good enough.

There are many better keepers than Zaluska out there - but being able to afford one is another matter.

they have said they are looking at keepers and i have no reason to doubt this. Whether we sign one or not is irrelevant to me.

Even if we dont i feel we have enough to win the title

Ah old medro making up his own quotes out of what was actually said.

We all know we'd rather have a better keeper than Zaluska (who actually isnt that bad -not world class, but not terrible) however its not that easy to buy one who is better. So we are waiting. We arent just buying for the sake of it

Reason being we have a decent sized squad already. We dont need 5 or 6 players.

We have strengthened already with the signings of Mathews and Wilson.

If we sign someone now it will be someone who walks into the first team and pushes a first team player to provide cover.

What we dont need to do is spend money for the sake of it. Id rahter that we waited and get value for money than buy a keeper who we have to replace in January/next summer

And i said IF it takes five years sobeit. Id rahter we bought a top notch keeper today - but if we cant get one now then i'll gladly stick with what we have and wait until one is available
