Sitting in the upper West Stand is great. Thanks to the barking mad membership scheme, there's load of free seats so I can sit in the expensive seats when I paid for a cheap seat.. Plus there's no queue. Its a win-win..
You don't spend £13m on Mason if that's your intention. You sell Hernandez to Villa for £10m+. Nope I don't buy that.
I said the opinion of people involved in the consortium is that the Allam's don't want to sell. It has been alluded to to by others as to why they are of that opinion. Imagine that your house is worth 250k, you put it on the market for 300k and someone happens to want it so badly they offer you the 300k. Once the solicitors draw up the paperwork you tell the buyer that the price didn't include the garage.
I like my house but if someone offered me silly money for it and there were other people also wanting it I would listen to their offers. Especially if I had fallen out with my neighbours and told them all I was going to sell up next day. Why do people on here still give them any credit for having intelligence? These are people who don't know the name of the football club they own and think that Hull Tigers is a shorter name than Hull City!
So you're talking about gazumping. That was common in the 80's when an owner turned down an agreed bid after someone else offered a higher bid. The only thing was that house owners didn't often put their houses on the market in the first place if they had no intention of selling.
Well quite, you may have it valued but there will be people who enjoy showing their house off to viewers so go one step further. As for gazumping, once you've signed a pre-sale agreement you can't legally accept other offers
You're missing the point. I'm not talking about gazumping. They told the world the club was for sale and when potential buyers came knocking they ****ed them all about because they never had any real intention of selling at all. Did you honestly believe the "gone in 24 hours"? The person currently in charge is ridiculously arrogant enough to believe he can keep the club in this league on his own, he thinks he doesn't need to sell. I don't know why he didn't just tell the consortiums to piss off and save us all the bother.
So you think all of these negotiations are a hugely elaborate plot to avoid having to admit they didn't want to sell the club. That takes some believing, but if it is the case why didn't they just put the club on the market for £250million and avoid having to deal with anyone?
I'd be very keen if I got to sell my house for top dollar, then keep my bedroom and live in it. Which is Ehab's plan in this metaphor.
There's nothing elaborate about it. Father says he's selling up, father becomes ill, son takes over, potential buyers show interest, son doesn't really want to sell, son pisses everyone off until they walk away. That's it. He's dug himself a hole and the only ways out are if a big enough mug pays his inflated price or he single handedly keeps the club in the premier league. He's not too bothered which but I'm pretty certain he believes one of these will happen.
I think this sounds plausible. If he was competent he wouldn't have publicly failed to woo 3 or 4 replacements for Steve Bruce. I've spoken to people who deal with the Allams regulalrly, who assured me that no matter what people may think of them, they always get their money back - plus extra. I saw no reason to disbelieve this, but I think it's based upon Allam Snr being in charge, and now he's not. I think it really is possible that it's that simple - Ehab took the reigns and isn't as savvy as Pops.
We've already spent the Premier League money, there's almost nowt left to pocket, as detailed a page or so back.
