The person I spoke to this morning IS privy to those negotiations. Whether you believe that is up to you. His opinion, and those of others involved, is that the Allam's don't want to sell.
Or with a little nuance added - they are willing to sell at a price that no one is ever willing to pay. That price might be monetary. Or it might be the chilling prospect of retaining Ehab on the senior staff.
I can only assume that Assem must be in state of total senility now, to have allowed the boy blunder to be in such a position whereby he can screw things up to the extent that he is doing, it looks like Assem's mind is ****ed as well as his body.
I might be more inclined to believe him if I could think of one plausible reason how it would benefit them to go through a long protracted charade.
Assem wants the club sold, the boy blunder is going round claiming he's trying to sell the club, while telling dad they couldn't reach an agreement. He's tried to retain an involvement with everyone who's bid.
So you're saying Ehab is trying to maintain a share of the club (for himself) against the old man's wishes? ... Seriously?
I spoke to Ehaw this evening . Our first chat since just after he sacked Nick Barmby, when I asked him about appointing a new manager. . I asked him if we are near being sold. He said 'Hopefully" I asked him if it was someone new. He said "No" He repeated that if they don't sell before the Christmas break, they will put all negotiations on hold. He looked shy, vulnerable but the shutters soon came down when he realised where all this was going. Apologies to all for not ramming the **** with my trolley but it's all on cctv there.
You said Assem did the final negotiations with Peter Grieve and demanded over £6 million for the SMC.
I've got no idea what the old man thinks of Ehab wanting to maintain an involvement, or indeed, if he even knows about it. It would necessary mean any ownership, he hasn't got that now, certainly with at least one bid he was insisting on continued use of the vice chairman's suite on matchdays.
Indeed, but that was just the earliest deal, Ehab's been doing everything since and I don't think Assem was actually aware of what had gone on ahead of him getting involved with Grieve.
That seems like a childish demand, but hardly an involvement with the running / ownership of the club.
So Assem didn't read the deal with the Dais and didn't know Ehab would still have an interest in the club? Possible but I find it hard to believe.
I never mentioned Ehab retaining an interest in the deal with Dais, they might have told him to sod off, Grieve did.
Cheers Lambo. Not sure about Grieve, have had conflicting reports on them. Dais, ****ed up, I get that. Lee, would be interesting to know what the conditions were. AP's mates, doesn't sound like theres anyone with the actual money by that statement, but seems like they're possibly still in the running, and the best hope for a sale? Lets hope they're not full of ****e.
Can't you read? Muffin has stated categorically they don't want to sell. End of. Well this sucks. Need a Chief Exec with bridge building powers, and someone to persuade a proper manager to join us. Oh and a fund for new players.
