    Prime example of my point

I reckon a big percentage of our fans would gladly see him sold one of our poorest performers in recent times yet hes sat on a big deal

    Poor wage management

I agree. But I think talk of Ehab not being an idiot or capable of thinking stupid things, is greatly overestimating him.

Anyone got a handy summary of known bidders and why they've dropped out?

    Chelsea £217m
    Man United £203m
    Man City £194m
    Arsenal £192m

These are based on the last filed accounts, they'll have gone up since then as a result of the new TV deal and I believe Man United now top the list.

    Cheers mate.
Surely that's unsustainable? How much is the sky money this year? £120 mill ish?
We can never even hope to compete against that level of spend. Maybe we should just accept our place in the championship??

Grieve - Agreed price ahead of play-off, but the Allams changed their minds. Agreed new price based on promotion and falling pound, deal fell apart after the Allams tried a last minute price hike and Grieve walked away.

Dai - Agreed a deal with a fixed term to complete, Dais cocked up and included someone dodgy in their Fit and Proper Person application, fixed term expired and Allams decided the club was now worth £30m more

Lee - Never a deal agreed, Lee considered the asking price too high, made a take it or leave offer of £100m (with conditions) and it was rejected.

AP's mates - Deal apparently agreed at £130m, but nobody knows who's actually got £130m in their set-up and there's been no sign of them since the HK stock market announcement (though there's some rumours that they're here this week).

Of course it is unsustainable. Like housing in this country, it's just a matter of time until it goes pop.

Best way to become a millionaire is start as a billionaire and buy a football club.

The sky money is the only thing that gives football clubs any value at all, outside of those that are global brands and can sell millions of replica shirts.

The Sky money is now up to £100m for the team who finish bottom, with an additional £2m for each place you finish higher up the league.

Increased gate money, shirt sales and sponsorship in the Premier League should push total revenue closer to £120m, but ours will obviously be less than it should be, as we're busy ****ing those things up.

It's all nonsensical. The Allams have scores to settle with HCC, supporters, the FA and, to a lesser extent, the PL. They won't get £130M, conditions or no conditions. They should want to sell, but clearly don't want to sell. Perhaps they want to retain some involvement so that they can progress their development plans. Greed got us here, greed will probably keep us here; it's the way of the Allams.

That would all turn out to be an astute bit of business by the Allams IF they swung the deal with AP's group.

These negotiations are 'work in progress' on a 'need to know' basis and no-one here has been invited into that confidence.

You still seem to be desperate to see the 'good' in what they do.

Two of those four parties believe that the Allams don't want to sell and that's from people directly involved in those deals.

Anyone out-bid in an auction situation is likely to make that sort of face saving comment.
It's ridiculous to suggest the Allams are going through this whole process with no intention of selling the club. People should stop filling their heads with demons and bogeymen and just accept that this is high level business and no-one here is privy to those negotiations.
