    I never thought Castro looked the trustworthy sort. I always suspected the whole Communist thing was just a scam and that he was on the Fidel.

    The wealthy and middle class fled first. In later years economic migrants went to the USA for the free citizenship or to join their estranged wealthy uncles.

    Maybe in the early 60's that was the case but by the late 70's and early 80's Castro was just ejecting "undesirables"

    I like Castro. He held a Communist dictatorship for decades 90 miles from mainland USA. That's heroic no matter what your politics are.
