A fluke mistake. The rest of the game he ran his balls off and pressed and tackled everything that moved.

Jack Cork could not do anything about a ball skimming his head and i would blame the defenders all day long for having no idea what each defender is doing and fab could have been better positioned but to his credit where should he be when he dont know what the defenders are doing....

The issue for m is we are struggling at the back and he has to help out and put a shift in. His goals are a massive bonus for us and all the credit to him. But we are conceding more and his unwillingness to track back doesn't help defensively. I do agree with Boundy and he will have to play further forward should Siggy go. If he just had a bit more will to get back we would have some player and then if he did that he wouldn't be with us.

It is swings and roundabouts from my point of view....If he plays more forward he can score goals but playing more defensive we wont have his goals and the way our defence is today wont make much difference but fer's goals do help us a great deal......So with the way things are playing him going forward is imo more beneficial....

However - Cork also gave away the free kick that led to the own goal. High work rate isn't everything.

Fer does very well on the goals front and is positive in going forward as opposed to the endless sideways/backwards passing when we're behind that we've seen so often. Little doubt about that. But he does have a tendency to give the ball away in dangerous areas and he really needs to get that out of his game. He's not alone by the way.

He's bound to give away free kicks when he's outnumbered in midfield. Let's be honest, it was the right thing to do. The own goal was a 1 in a million fluke.

Now, if Fer was to move a little every now and then and work for the team, Cork might not give such a foul away.

If we are going to keep using Fer in the team, I'd much rather him in Gylfis position and Gylfi in CM alongside Cork and Fulton.

Fer & Siggy deserve their inclusion this week but I find it hard to disagree with Crooks when he says:

"However, in all honesty, I cannot see how Swansea can retain their status in the Premier League when they continually move on players such as forwards Wilfried Bony, Bafetimbi Gomis and Andre Ayew - and, of course, defender Ashley Williams - without replacing them and expect to survive."

Crook's is only stating the obvious really, and getting paid for it.
Many on here have been saying the same but free of charge. <laugh>
