4 points from Liverpool and Everton at home is a fine return, I had a feeling we would beat Everton but we looked relatively comfortable throughout despite the 1-0 scoreline. We need to push on and use the space that opens from the opposition searching for an equaliser, which granted we did a few times yesterday and we could have won by more on another day. Romeu/Hojbjerg partnership looked very encouraging!
The redmond/bertrand one also looked good I thought. Bertrand needs that interplay down the left. Creates plenty of chances.
Yes I see that Redmond has received a fair bit of criticism but I thought he played well yesterday in a position that suits him better than playing as a striker. He played a few nice passes in for Bertrand who was fantastic.
I very much doubt it.., Anyhow, really enjoyed that game, and really hope Pardew gets through his crunch talks over the next 48 hours. Lots of celery eating at Selhurst by the sounds of it...
How many goals did Kante score last season for Leicester? Ps. Not being curt, just a question with not many words
That's interesting. This week I defended Ryan when asked if McQueen had gone ahead of him on form and then I felt defensively Ryan was not good yesterday. He seemed to get in a muddle several times in the second half. I do agree that he and Redmond linked up very well going forward and in the first half particularly.
He is playing fantastic and as you say victor who And also an absolute bargain at the reported £4-5 m fee
Wasn't Kante playing more of a Wanyama/Romeu role? Mahrez got 18 playing as a winger. If Tadic or JWP had netted 18 times we'd have won the league.
We do have an interview giant....you can tell, because Forster looks him in the eye. Josh had no chance.
I can understand a manager may not play youngsters...he's entitled to pick the team he wants, but I really don't understand his attitude to Academy lads. Koeman has pushed the kids out at Everton as well....doesn't let them train, mix or even eat with the first team. This was especially difficult at Saints because we have a policy of letting the dog see the rabbit. The Academy lads have free tickets at SMS (I know because friends got tickets when their 9-yr-old was admitted to the Academy)....what excitement must have gone through the youngsters watching when they saw Josh had been picked...and not so long afterMcQueen had got his chance. I can only assume Koeman is arrogant and can't be bothered with encouraging the kids. The team can't even start eating until he does....what's that about?
