Bucks. it was ace mate, loved it. Managed to get a couple of hours in the smoke before as well, tube was interesting on a Friday at 16.30pm. Sat nav took me through London there and back though instead of M25 which seemed a bit obscure and a bad idea! Pags, you complain all you want, I`ll just tell you not to each time, doesnt bother me! Lets all remember as well that in 89/90 we capitulated to Newcastle away 5-2 on the opening day, then our first home game was against Mboro which we luckily won due to a dodgy bounce. In the end we got promoted as champions to the top flight (West Ham were also in the division then). Omens, omens omens, which I believe in!
How is being positive about a loss rather than running around proclaiming the end of the world "being a tit"?
Phil driving anywhere through London is not recommended mate! Do you have to pay the congestion charge then, or did you miss the Zones? Disappointed in Brown as well against Saints. When other fans said all he does is kick ten bails out of people I thought it was exaggerated and he was a bit dirty, but that performance was dire & he stopped a good break for us by putting the boot in for no reason. Glad Grayson took him off to be honest, although he has sounded excellent in pre season
I think Brown will come good in the end. I think the occasion got to him and I'm honestly rather encouraged by the number of time I thought "You wouldn't see Kilkenny doing that". Larry just needs to get him to control his temper and he could be exactly what we missed last season.
1) Clayton was not MOM for both teams by a distance 2) Brown was lucky not to be sent off he can't tackle cleanly he was a hatchet man 3) O'Dea was far from solid 1) How were we unlucky we were awful and deserved to lose 2) We did not dominate, 1% more possession and less shots 3) Conceded 3 goals and scored a penalty that never should have been given You just questioned that you thought O'Dea had played LB for Ipswich all season, so what criteria did you use to determine that he looks a decent CB? That is why you were being a tit..
i agree Simon. Think as an ex Pompey player he was fired up for the saints game. Shame O'Brien wasnt.
1) He was considering the **** around him. 2) None of the Saints players were booked for the same thing, he was booked for seemingly nothing other than complaining about a decision. 3) He was. 1) I'll give you that one, however both their 1st and 3rd goals came against the run of play cancelling momentum we were building at the time. 2) I said we dominated territorialy in the 1st half, in the second half we had the easy majority of possession and most of that was in their 3rd, we just did **** all with it. 3) We also should have had 2 penalties that weren't given. I've already said why O'Dea looks a good CB.
Pags, stop complaining. Bucks, noticed something about a low emission zone but thought bollocks to that and just carried on. My route there was through Kew, Stretham and Putney, route back took me right outside Earls Court!? Nearly got squashed by a couple of buses but I took on a London style of aggressive '**** you I`m getting in that lane' driving. When in Rome and all that. Re the footy, I like Brown, does the dirty stuff and if anything tried too hard on Sat. Would rather that than a fop like Kilkenny. Have been impressed with Clayton all pre season, his distribution is first class and he puts his foot in as well, and he more than showed that on Sat. IMO he and Howson will be great together, and with Brown mopping up we will eventually gel and that part of the team will work. We missed Becchio a heck of a lot though, poor old McCor had no chance whatsoever with the 'balls' (if you can call them that) being played to him. Annoying cos we played some great football preseason but that went out of the window on Sat when players stupidly started panicking and knocking it long to a podgy midget.
Afternoon my favourite yorkshire rose What time you finish friday then...so i know what time to be wondering around the center..???. Then you can take me for a drink (LOL) befor you go get yur tea/dinner...
Saints played straight through our midfield causing O'Brien/Kissa to push up into the gap trying to deal with it. Its a formula that will see us outdone time & time again, but fortunatley I dont think there are many midfields that are better than saints this term & we need Brown/Clayton to dominate that area if we are going to be successfull. Used to work in Putney, its like driving in India!
I finish at 4.30 on Friday Badge And Philth… **** YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU That felt better
Oohhhh just remembered ....SWW and Pags its our 1st anniversary on Saturday....Its a year since you 1st took ole Badger under your wings at the meet-ups. And may i say my trips up the better for it
Yeah mate, smelt like it too! I`m not laying too much blame on midfield for goals, O'Brien was too slow to react for everyone of them. That is my only criticism of SG, he sticks with the buffoon when it is obvious he is dross as the best of times, never mind the fact he missed half of pre-season. Still think Tom Lees is well worth a punt in his place cos Bruce and Bromby will be as bad as ever as well. Kudos to Saints finishes though, they were absolutely top notch from each player who scored.
Am sorry but I said Michael Brown was a bad signing, bloody Gordon Brown, would do better. And Obrien should never have been signed after he went for talks with Cardiff.
