Just caught episode 2 of the grand tour. Pure silliness. Excellent, just what was wanted. at times a car show tried to peep out but it was quirky stamped on.
Good to hear. The only thing that ruined Clarkson's Top Gear (and ep 1 of GT) was the cars. I'll probably watch GT tonight.
It is like an early new top gear where they are basically really just doing a lads show and it's more comedy than anything. one car bit and then the large part of just goofing around on a special trip to Jordan. It's a case that had Evans any brains or bbc any brains that they could have done.. tfi friday.
Watched The Grand Tour, it's very much a car show with banter. Don't get what you lot are on about? Yes it's fun but there's loads of info on cars.
over an hour and 5 mins... there was one bit about a lunatic aston martin and then a vast chunk of the show was at best an audi and a catering truck in a gun toting action sequence... thats loads? ok ok they stuck james may in a burn out car which was a bit of fun too. The running order was jokes about south afrcia, jacob zouma is corrupt joke pictures (sort of stuff they did in very early series) guy sitting on his gun. jokes about carjacking in SA conversation street. bit about an aston martin first part of the jordan thing they kill Charlize Theron via a lion james goes spinning second part of jordan thing now sorry if i got it wrong but i saw 80% monty pynthon sketches and 20% cars at best. I genuinely think its more a comedy show than anything else. i mean Clarkson tries to absail out of a helicopter into a building and his trousers falls down.... hammond loses a knife fight, then resets and he does indiana jones. may shoots hammond. hammon shoots may.. clarkson is shot in the plums... this is not a serious car review IMO. oh yeah and there was some bloke who built a car from a model....
Just saying it's ace and only a whiff of cars remains. it's all about the relationships. I hope they do an epic road trip next.
@luvgonzo I can't be bothered to find your quote but you're right, they need to start making the Walkers a serious feature in this now. They've become a side show and I can understand why given the focus on humanity sinking to its most primitive form of survival. BUT here's the flaw with that. If the Walkers become so insignificant so as to no longer pose a serious threat.... then you'd soon have some organised government and armed force taking back control of the country bit by bit relatively quickly. The days of Negan etc would be numbered. The only way this feudal system can carry on is with a strong Walkers threat. And also tbh to make the show what made it so exciting in the first place!
