Who do you reckon will go? Pickford maybe. But there is a thread for that. Kone? Nowhere near 18m. So will likely stay. Khazri seems prime candidate. Dont blame him either. Larsson? Perhaps. Rodwell? No friggin chance
Can't really afford to offload too many in terms of the size of the squad. If Moyes is told he has to sell before he can buy then we'll likely be saying bye bye to Pickford. More worried about the incomings in January in all honesty.
Mannone maybe? He will want first team football and isn't a bad player, could get a few bob for him. not sure how long left on contract, mind.
True that. If it`s about generating coin it would have to be Pickford. We really should not be in the situation where we are discussing things like this.
Or, Short can clean up his own mistakes by putting his own money into it, trust the manager he's 'been chasing for 5 years' then start recouping money gradually while we're in a consolidated position instead of trying to do it with a **** squad while selling our future and the club's spirit down the river. Said on the Pickford thread, he goes and I'm done with Sunderland until Short has gone. He's distorting and twisting Sunderland into a different club entirely, one I have no respect for.
I can see Moyes selling Khazri as he either doesn't rate his fitness or he doesn't rate him as a player, I think it's the latter. Wouldn't exactly bankroll any signings though.
I`m hoping this Bains chap is clearing out the behind the scenes crap which, according to plenty of past managers, has been `wrong` for years. Maybe Short has finally seen the light. Yes, I know, straws, clutching etc. but it looks to be a step in the right direction.
He'll be loaned out, because nobody is going to pay for player on PL wages who's not getting game time. He'll be loaned out and we'll pay a % of his wages.
Short is hoping sales can generate the budget. But like I said, who's going to buy a player on PL wages who doesn't get a game? He a decent player but no world beater, there's better value on fee and wages out there for buying players. He'll go out on loan like Lens, those funds will never get generated and investment won't happen. Only a radical change in how we do business will change how we do business. Otherwise Bain just has the same unsolvable problems every other ceo and dof has had.
Wouldn't be surprised if Moyes had another go at getting him providing we actually have any money. How much you reckon he'd cost?
Okay, sorry for even contemplating it - thought a forum was for debating, discussing etc., must have gotten that bit wrong.
Funny that he started the season ahead of likes of Herrera. For £9m he'd be a steal for someone like us. For context, Rodwell cost us £10m
We only play him as a bully, it's so predictable when he comes on. Wasted here and as far as I'm concerned he can do one.
