He said he would see out his contract multiple times. He then expressed a wish to leave for Everton for more money and didn't see out his contract. To me that seems like a lie. I'm not one of these people that hates anyone that leaves saints. Pochettino, for example, I have nothing against. Just no time for Koeman at all.
Totally agree. No time for koeman whatsoever. Im thankful for the amazing seasons he gave us including some great winsh but to continually he was staying and even go far as saying I dislike football players and managers who leave for short-term gain, and then **** off to step down club for more money will forever tarnish his name. Completely. 3-0 saints please. Cheat, do anything but ****ing beat him.
I'm as unhappy as the next man, but ... I have a son who is a lawyer, and whenever I ask his view on a trial he always replies that he wasn't in court and so didn't hear the evidence. The same applies here too, I think. We don't know the details and should be wary of jumping to conclusions. I shall, of course, boo the git mercilessly this afternoon, as the second I climb the steps to the Northam all rational responses are binned for two hours. But we at least should be aware that our dislike is irrational.
He may have been willing to see out his contract, but not willing to sign a new one (as desired by Saints). Everton can't have been his dream job, so I can believe that he just wanted to stay another season. Seeing things escalate on here, I can well believe the situation went downhill pretty rapidly. Les Reed is many things, but a happy go lucky sweetie, he ain't. Having said that, I want Koeman to fail miserably, so he will appreciate what he had here....starting with the match this afternoon. However, I wouldn't put money on it.
Haha, Martin Keown on motd2 extra just now (discussing the reception Koeman will get) "...WHEN he goes back in January and takes some of their players they'll dislike him even more". I didn't realise it was so set it stone. We must be perceived as a free for all club by the media.
Subjective your Honour... You literally don't know that for sure, I'm just saying I think it's a bit on both sides, and I'm not convinced he really wanted to go, certainly not to Everton either.
I don't think going to Everton was his plan either...surely he'd rather be available for a bigger club next season.
I think that is in part linked to the fact that we have good players who command top prices. Pretty sure that half the EPL would sell players if they were offered top dollar....however their players (or very few of them) are worth it.
Sorry Fran, but that isn't strictly true. Most clubs have really good players, Payet, Arnoutovic, Bojan, Lukaku, Couthino, Heaton and I could go on. Now I'm not saying it's easy but we did set a precident. Anyhow, no negative discussions until during and lots after the match please
Its true our strikers are all potential rather than potent for differing reasons ... Charlie is playing at a higher level than before i.e. QPR didn't play beautiful football and maybe their simpler style suited him more readily Shane is playing better than ever before in general but hasn't ever been a big scorer Nathan is learning in a new postion ... and it may not work JRod is returning from a long-term injury and players often struggle to get back into form after a long lay-off We always needed to be getting goals from everyone when we lost Sadio & the beautifal one and at present we're getting goals from no-one We don't even need that many with our great defense. Just look at how different Europa would have looked if we'd just got one goal from each away game.
Lukaku was morally obliged to score his own goal because the Worst Penalty Decision Ever had just been waved away.
