Men against boys again. Sorry fans I'm beginning to lose faith in LJ. We are shocking. We are on the slippery slope.
Was going to ask the same question! Wasn't able to go, but the report and stats don't seem to indicate a "men against boys" situation despite the loss of more points!
I didn't go but 25 shots away from home says we are creating the chances, not sure that indicates men against boys? But it is another loss which is a tad worrying for confidence alone!
Yep just got home,we have no end product,Bryan is not good enough as a left back,Little is not good enough at right back. Pack poor game,Reid poor game. We are playing the wrong formation. Sorry 6 points of the relagation zone, lose Saturday against Ipswich who banged four past QPR today. Sorry LJ you can rabbit of all the stats you like, the bottom line goals win games, and your team is not doing that. The slippery slope is getting closer the bottom end of the table is not far away. Reading crowd must have been approx 14000 for a top three side very poor. Surprise surprise put three strikers on the pitch and we got a goal.
Six points is a big gap and we are 5pts from the play offs after a tough run of games. Five away games in seven would be hard for anyone. We are mid table team and we are in mid table. Some people are expecting too much. Reading got a soft penalty and a great goal but we could still have got something from the team in third place who had won four on the trot.
Reading 5/4 - it was giving you money. Cheers Junior. The usual 1st and 2nd periods and predictable subs when chasing the game. The 1 Trick Pony needs a good start next w/e or it's carnage.
Do I sense that LJ is beginning to run out of time ? Can I just remind everyone that we are not Man UbloodyNited, and we are not the logical destination for any aspiring worldbeater of a manager, despite the hype that follows us every time we sack our head honcho (like, even when he is successful !). In fact we actually appear to be a poisoned challis for managers…..I wonder why ? I suggest we just let LJ get on with it and get off their backs, because we will cause less damage that way. If LJ takes us down then so be it. After sacking the manager who took us up, maybe that is our Karma
Must admit, I can't put my finger on it. Most games are close, not as if we are getting a tonking when we lose. So the way I see it, we are not too far away from a decent team and Junior can't be too wrong in what he's doing. Cutting edge, bit of quality, bit of belief, cutting back on mistakes, being much stronger in the first half should be all it takes.. The gun was cocked by the haters months ago but if the results continue the way they are, the loading of ammunition will be quickly implemented. Having said that, many teams in this division aren't finding easy either, who would have predicted the Newcastle result?
Actually, BRR, I'm with you on this one! One of the reasons I don't post on here much is the downbeat nature of so many posters once things don't go "right"!! I really don't have the time, or be arsed, to get embroiled in an argument that actually stems from an individuals point of view or opinion of what is going on. I've followed City since 1966 so have seen some real dross over the years; also, I've seen some great times. So many people have said on here that this season is all about consolidation. Whilst in the last few weeks we haven't taken many points, the fact that we're capable of competing against established Championship and ex-Premiership teams is, to me, a sign that we are, in general, going forward. Only time will tell whether that is the case!! Bearing in mind the glass half-full/empty thread, I'm quite surprised that someone hasn't posted about the fact that Codger and Albert both scored for Villa yesterday, and why the **** did we get rid of them!!
We lost to Reading as predicted. The acid test is now whether we can arrest the slide and get 3 points against Ipswich. The games don't get any easier at this level..... Should we lose this one as well then questions might start to be asked.
Reliant, it's good to read a very salient post from you, I do agree with your answers and would point out ol' Baldock scored yesterday as well, it makes me wonder why they are all scoring and winning whilst we struggle after all, we are all in the same pond, the Championship. I do understand about 'downbeat nature' but in general we do have a good, sound forum and it does reflect a very broad church of opinion which suporting Bristol City FC really is all about. I personally do try to couple every day together with different points chosen mainly from local sources to achieve debate and opposite points of view and the people that do participate and get involved does make it worth while but stupid, pointless arguments do tend to get tedious, I do take your point. As for my own suupport of the City, I, like many have been there man and boy, since the 50's in my case, as regard the thread I as I have said have always been a glass half full person but Bristol City FC are my weakness and passion and so it continues, I am up on the rejuvinated fence.
We lost 2-1 away to a team that is 3rd and going well. Ok No points but we wont be the only club to lose up there- We have had some tight games go against us, but to be fair, we have been lucky in some others where a late goal has gone for us. We went into a run of 5 way games out of 7 with one of the home games being against Brighton, who in my opinion are going up- I think its a bit early to be calling for heads. its not even Christmas yet, see what the table looks like then, I reckon we will see a slightly better picture.
was going to post when we got back last night but having had a few sherbets, i left it in case i said something i later regretted, but honestly, men against boys!, were in free fall!, we are what we are a fairly average - but in the long term improving team, and it makes me want to reach for the brandy and sleeping pills, the way some people (person) just cant wait to be first to put the boot in.
Fielding was unlucky on their penalty. Strange he didn't attempt a save for their 2nd. Very slow, slug like, no reaction whatsoever. Note to Junior - that's what a rabbit in the headlights looks like, not the players at Cardiff. You were the problem at Cardiff, and you've been equally culpable since. Their penalty was correct. But f*ck me gently that was a definite penalty for handball in their box.
