SOL is the place to be. Our goalies have faced the most SOG (90). Isn't that really why goalies cheer when their sides score; they know they are likely to get some action shortly.

I agree with you 100% but there were a few around where I was sitting who 'voiced their complaints'. They were a small minority of the sort who only seem to go to complain.

However, IF he went elsewhere for a huge fee, Football Fans at his new Club would probably be a lot less forgiving.

Every time I go to a game or get a season card I'm stuck right next to one.

25-30 is huge for a keeper still.

I would demand 40m for him now, he is the best prospect I have seen at this club since Jim Monty, my only concern would be how we spend it, and that is a real worry.

If I can hark back to my reasons for him to stay, can I suggest that you cast your mind back to when we signed Craig Gordon for a then record UK fee for a keeper.

Most of our Fans assumed we were getting the best Keeper in the UK, just because of the fee.
    We weren't.
Craig was nothing like the finished article although he did improve over his time with us till, at the end, he could reasonably be said to take his place amongst the top tem, WHEN HE WAS FIT.

In just the same way if Jordan moves for a huge fee his new Fans are going to expect perfection without any errors.
In my view he will just be making a rod for his own back.
IF however he stays here and completes his apprenticeship, he can go on to bigger and better things confident in the knowledge that he has done everything possible to equip himself to face the challenge.

Would be mental to sell him in January. Come the Summer would be a bit more understandable if a big boy comes in and he wants the move but you don't sell him mid season when you desperately need him <doh>

Just had a look at LFC's first goal today and he was slow to react to the cross shot which we can put down to inexperience at this stage. Needs another season or two with us at least.

Admittedly I haven't seen it since the replays at the time but that sounds harsh. No amount of experience can really prepare a keeper for a fluke like that. Seaman was as experienced as it gets and Ronaldinho still fluked it past him.

Wasn't meant to be harsh, but the only place available to sling the ball was into the six yard box and he was just not prepared for the way it was hit. Could have been a hit and hope of course, but he was back on his heels.

I think there's a certain rhythm that you expect as a player and when someone miskicks it like Origi did it just doesn't click. He probably wasn't as prepared as he could have been but there's only so much you can expect I suppose. Looked like there was enough curl and power on the 'shot' for the keeper to be more or less blameless personally.

Watmore should have been closer to Origi and not let him get the shot/cross in whatever it was. Two bits of inexperience between the kids....still good performance though.

I thought the same initially, but having seen the replays it was a cross that went in.

Cannot blame Pickford at all IMO.

    It was a complete fluke.

Would we spend it? Or would Ellis wipe off debt with it or would Ellis just pocket it?

If he's after selling he needs to keep us up. The price will plummet if we go down and so would interest I assume.

If we can maintain our recent form, get a few more wins under our belt and be back in the mix of those just above us, Mannone will be back as No1 and he'll wipe off debt.

I disagree with interest plummeting if we do go down though Gil. Pickford is still Pickford. The bigger clubs will be fighting in the car park to get his signature. He's not getting the blame for our current situation. if anything, it's enhancing it.

I meant interest in SAFC mate not Picks. Meaning Ellis would have to sell for less. For me we should be building a team around Pickford. He's a class act and should not be sold.

    I knew what ya meant<laugh>.

Eliss is a ****tard. Playing a dodgy game.

More to the point, say 30m for example, could/would Moyes be trusted enough to improve the squad enough to justify Pickford leaving?

End of the day we need to face facts. If someone comes in with an offer of 25-30 million he will go.

I would not lose too much sleep over it in all fairness. Yes he's a quality keeper and is only going to get better but if we could use that money well (big IF I know) then for me it would be a justified sale.

Mannone won't let anybody down and is a decent keeper for a lower half mid table premiership team. Our problem is massively central midfield as we are weak as piss which has only been highlighted by Catts and Kirchoff being out injured.

A decent transfer window for me would be sell Pick ford for 30 million get in Mvilla another decent CM and maybe a young Centre Forward from Europe who has potential but obviously won't break the bank. No idea who this would be mind but any English player who fits that bill would probably cost us the money we got for the sale of Pickford.
