Saturday 26th November 15:00, Liverpool host Sunderland at Anfield. Last time out Sunderland won 3-0 at home to Hull while Liverpool drew 0-0 at Southampton. Jurgen Klopp has no new injury concerns and could name an unchanged line-up in the Premier League for the first time since his second game in charge 13 months ago. David Moyes got his second Premier League win which also saw the Black Cats keep their first clean sheet of the season. David Moyes: "Anybody who plays against Liverpool has to park the double-decker bus, but we also have two centre forwards scoring goals. I was there to witness the last win we had at Anfield… sadly it was way back in 1983 when Paul Bracewell was playing for us. I’ll be hoping for draw but I am preparing for the worst. Sunderland boss David Moyes looks unlikely to be able to call upon the services of Sebastian Larsson and Jan Kirchhoff for tomorrow’s game against Liverpool. The duo both played – and scored – for the Under-23s on Monday night against Manchester United. It had prompted hopes that they would be fit for the trip to Anfield tomorrow, but it seems Moyes will give them more time to recover from their injuries. He said: “I don’t think Seb and Jan are ready, but I think they are near to returning. We need them back along with Fabio Borini .” Moyes will need to find a midfield replacement for Paddy McNair, who is out for the rest of the season after rupturing his cruciate ligament against Hull City last week, but Steven Pienaar returns from suspension.
I'm quite pleased were not playing Kirchy and Seb. I think were expected to lose so let them get another weeks training under their belts and build their fitness levels up for next weeks match when we have a better chance of winning.
Pienaar's probably the right player for a game like this given our options. I was going to say we'll need cool heads like his in midfield but not if he gets sent off again.
Yes I agree. We cant afford to take any risks were already down to tbe bare bones in central midfield. Im suprised Seb isnt ready yet though. Hes been back training a few weeks now and he played nearly a full game for Sweden 2 weeks ago.
I said we should play Pienaar in my thread a few days ago but nobody seemed to agree. I think we need his ability to retain possesion and hold on to the ball cause lets be honest were not gona see much of it.
Never know mate, we've got two in a row and getting better and more confident each game. Definitely fancy Anichebe to score.
Yeah I think you're right mate, can't remember what I said in that thread but I agree with you now. We either need to keep possession or graft our arses off (both ideally) and Pienaar will help on the possession side.
He certainly will. If we can nick a goal he could be vital in holding onto the ball and killing abit of time.
Saw your vote. Love your confidence mate! Hope your right! That would open the bottom end of the table right up! And shut a lot of professional punters up as well. I'd be happy with a draw. That's a big away point! Beers on you if we win Tees!!
+1 aint negative. I reckon we`ll do very well to come away from there with anything tbh. Be chuffed of we do mind.
Agreed I would deffo take a point now. No pressure imo cos if we get beat its expected. If and its a big IF we did win I think I will celebrate all week on the drink.
