Absolutely not. That would leave us in grave danger of creating chances.

I think Boufal is still not quite up to a full 90 in the PL personally. Although, I'd like to see it purely for the added width. Our crossing has been so bad this season.

But I would really, really like us to go back to having a midfield pivot. I think if Pierre and Romeu played together week in, week out, they could become a brilliant midfield pairing.
Who knows, four/five weeks ago the diamond was working nicely and we were looking great, so let's hope we find that form again.

I would like to see Redmond play behind the striker. One thing we are severely lacking at the minute is penetration through the middle and if Redmond had the chance to be more direct we could see him to better effect. Boufal Redmond Tadic in behind Austin should give him the service he needs.

Gutted not to be going to this due to stupid family commitments ... I know I'd rather be giving the fat lying Dutchman some stick than having a sit-down meal.

I hope they fit an extra large pocket in Virgil's shorts for Sunday. I'm looking forward to seeing him keep Lukaku in it.

This is Virgil. No fate is being tempted! He'll stroll it.

I agree with playing Boufal and Tadić together. Drop Redmond to the bench, or altogether, as he has been completely ineffective the last 2 games at least. Hopefully Højbjerg will be fit, and as has been said, a double pivot with him and Romeu would be worth trying.

    Forster
    Cedric, Fonte, Van Dijk, Bertrand
    Højbjerg, Romeu
    Boufal, Davis, Tadić
    Austin

Even if they don't line up like that, that's how they should play.

According to Matts boy, Hojbjerg is not even good enough to get in Burnleys team WTF?

tbh based on what i've seen of him he has kind of a point, I do believe however that the lad has talent but i'm not sure if we are using him as we should be. Lets face it Burnley are not a bad team and have players that can pick out passes and create chances so its not a massive under selling of him.

I don't want him strolling it (seemed to be last night), I want him playing as if his life depended on us winning. I want to see determined game changing play from Saints to prove they do care and to get the crowd singing their hearts out. I can accept some of them might not be as good as we would like as long as they look like they are busting a gut for the team. Is it too much to ask?

Also worth pointing out that Burnley are level on points with us and have won more games than us this season. All well and good talking as if we are far superior to them but we are yet to prove it on the pitch. Obviously our season has been harder with the EL and a run in the EFL cup, but that is football. So far they've matched us.

That's what I took as positive from the Liverpool game....no one could doubt their commitment despite being outplayed. And yes, Liverpool missed chances, but I think it was our whole-hearted defence that made them rush their chances. We were down and out, but didn't know it. Wouldn't want too many games like that, but the passion cheered me up....good point gained. I am concerned the team will get despondent...a good win would do wonders*

    *Quite frankly, any win. .

Borrowed from SaintsWeb, it's practically a suicide zone over there.

    KOEMAN ON SOUTHAMPTON RETURN

“It’s nice to be back. Myself and the rest of the technical staff had a great time there.

“I had a great time and the job was very successful. I’m very proud to have been the manager of Southampton.

“I don’t know (what reception I will get). I can’t change the feelings and opinions of the Southampton fans. For my career I will look back at it being a great time.

“But I understand different opinions and different reactions and I’m not afraid of that. I made the choice to move and I’m happy to be at Everton.

“The past is the past, managers change and players change and I think looking forward is the best thing to do.”
