I'm disappointed in advance, to be honest.

Well, on the basis that Kirchhoff is constantly injured and our other defensive midfielders are ****, I'd say we do need him. He's a top class player who demonstrated that he wanted to come here. Its frustrating that he's not here already. We do need other midfielders but our current midfield wouldn't be too bad if we had him.

Don't think it works like that. A transfer fee isn't based on ability alone. Contract to run, players age, the team they're selling to, whether previous player owners are due a percentage or set sum and whether the selling team needs to sell all play a massive part too. Football just isn't as black and white as your statement.

This, we managed to get under the skin of a player who is head and shoulders above our level and we let it come to this. The man is an outstanding footballer who came here off no preseason and no coaching time into a fast unfamiliar league with no winter break and started 30 consecutive games only showing a slight blip in form(still performed above average yet still got a load of **** from the usual scapegoaters) as his legs tired over christmas. He is head and shoulder above any midfielder we've had since we returned to the Premier league. If we miss out in Jan then we've made the biggest mistake.

Never mind '**** him' to the lad who fell in love with club and flew himself to England on deadline day to try and seal the deal. That's ****ing fine gratitude that from some folk. <doh>

If he hadn't had his off field problems he'd be part of the spine of Arsenal now with teams sniffing right left and centre. I believe that 100%. I also believe 100% we won't come close to attracting a player of his caliber this january. Not remotely close.

I'm still very sore over Yann. I miss the little class act to bits.

    Aye me too.
This could turn out two ways.
Either a masterstroke getting him for nowt or a major clusterfuck in missing out on him as he heads off to a cl team.

Maybe it's a blessing you didn't sign Bony on loan, it's been revealed that he has a clause in his loan contract that if a Chinese club make a bid for him, he can leave if City accept it.

Basically if he gets a big money offer then it's bye bye Stoke, all the best. Typifies the average Manchester City footballer.

    That would be my guess.

The sad thing is, if it did happen that way, it would be no surprise.

There`s dozens of very successful business men got involved with football clubs and made a complete hash of things. Just because they`re successful in one line of business doesn`t mean they`ll be successful in another and a football club simply isn`t like any other business.
