So, God went back to Noah, and said, "Noah, I need you to build me another ark." And Noah said, "What, like the last one?" So God said, "No, a bit taller, lots and lots of floors." And Noah said, "Yeah, no problem, you want the animals to go in two-by-two again?" And God said, "No, I just want fish." So, Noah said, "Fish? Really?" And God said, "Yeah, in fact just one species of fish - the carp." "I've always wanted a Multi-Storey Carp Ark.........."
Course I did Chilcs, but I knew you'd be there with the correct name You lot are like Google to me, means I don't actually need to know anything as somebody else surely will.
Don't usually watch it, but just watched Who Do You Think You Are? with Danny Dyer. Great episode....his ancestry was traced back to nobility in the 17th Century and he is directly descended from Thomas Cromwell (Henry VIII's sidekick) and his great grandfather x 22 was Edward III. And via Edward he is descended from William the Conqueror. His face was an absolute picture....when it was pointed out that a member of his family built Westminster Abbey (which he was standing in at the time). He said that he's going to wear a ruff and when anyone asks why, he's going to tell them.
This incompetence from the police is absolutely staggering. Just how...? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-38045742
I can understand that Port may have got away with the first murder....entirely plausible that it was an accidental death and he panicked, but no excuse for not investigating the other deaths more thoroughly. They were hardly dealing with a criminal mastermind, were they? At the very least, the handwriting on the suicide note should have been compared with the victim's....and who writes such a complicated suicide note explaining the loss of the phone and saying don't implicate this other guy I had sex with. I suspect there was nothing malignant about the police investigation, but general incompetence involving work pressure, the desire to clear it off the books quickly, lack of empathy, not wanting to spend funds on tests they regarded as unnecessary etc. The coroner had doubts...perhaps more pressure should have been brought there....it is a coroner's job after all.
Well it's Black Friday and my email inbox is taking a pounding..........delete, delete, delete except for all the meals out I have to fit in by Wednesday.
I hate sales....too many people. I usually go out days later and, if there is anything left, I will consider it. If not, I was never meant to have it. If I really wanted/needed something I would have bought it full price before the sales came round anyway.
He's just been sentenced to life in prison today. Even some cursory checks after the first death would've yielded enough evidence for everything else to unravel. Especially that stuff about the search history. Harrowing stuff.
The one episode that stood out for me was Matthew Pinsent's. He has a greater claim to the UK throne than the Saxe-Coburg's [oops, I mean Windsor's]. He is also directly descended back to William the Conqueror, and quite closely too apparently. Just shows you where lopping off a few people's heads off at the right time can get you, so that you end up on the throne and not the right person. Come back Oliver, all is forgiven.
The heirs to the throne are never fixed...other factors become involved....such as who has the most political support or the most power. And in recent times, the abdication that brought the Queen's father to the throne. At the present time, it all looks clear for the next few generations, but always possible it may change if someone refuses the throne (always a possibility as it could be a lot easier just to be a rich person without the hassle).
The Cuban Missile Crisis was the first time that I remember being really scared as a child. It was then that I made the decision to never let anything really scare me....as I could do nothing about it and everything passes with time. Lived by it ever since. Some things are more alarming than others, but the 'everything passes with time' bit is true. Sometimes I am reminded of events (as by Castro's death) and I realise I had truly forgotten them....despite the fact they filled my life at the time. Everything passes.
