Yeah.... Actually it's a bit more lazy than measuring stuff because you don't weigh anything. Instead you need a bunch of spoons and cups of varying sizes handy to measure with.
Depends can be easier. If it's just a cup of this a cup of that. Half a cup of this. Makes it easier as you don't need scales or measuring jug. Problem comes if you then need to add other things like 4 eggs.. as that'll have an impact on how big your cup is.
But how big is a cup? If you don't have one of those measuring cups do you use the Liverpool FC mug? Or the Mrs' massive pink mug with hearts on? Or a tea cup? They're all different sizes and when you're reading a recipe with cup measurements without the proper measuring apparatus then you will end up baking a soggy or dry cake. #realproblems
We have a cupboard full of cups, half cups, third cups, quarter cup measuring cups. A cup is 8oz. (Have to remember a bunch of silly conversion factors)
Makes no difference. If you need 600gs flour and 300 gram sugar. You use 1 cup for flour and half cup for sugar.
