According to the mail he has been offered a one year deal, right at the bottom of the article http://www.thisishullandeastriding....-talks-terms/story-13089218-detail/story.html
I am glad he got a deal because from the little I saw of him he looked the part albeit in a friendly.
gives the lad enough time to prove himself and im sure we'll offer him a new contract if he does well.
Liam Rosenior was only on a 3 months deal to start with and was quickly snaffled for 2 1/2 years. This is a good opportunity for him.
id like to see us offer rosenior a new 3-4 year deal. only a matter of time before a prem club starts sniffing around.
I don't think that'll be far off. He'll only have a year left at the end of the season so I'm sure the club will looking to do something before January.
Agreed, would you offer Koren an extension? Be a shame to lose him for nothing at the end of the year. On song, he should be one of the best midfielders in this league.
Great opportunity for the kid - it's like an extended trial period up until January. Haven't seen him in the flesh yet but looked to take his goal well vs Bradford
I never understand it when people say that, surely it's a one year deal with the option of either offering him an extra one year, two year, three year deal etc etc, depending on how good he is? It's not set in stone what contract we're allowed to offer him :S
On the subject of strikers, why haven't we considered taking Benjani on for a free. I know he turns 33 next week, however he surely offers something to a side like ours which needs a bit of experience and competition up front. I know you can search his stats on wikipedia, but the vast majority of his games for Man City, Sunderland and Blackburn came off the bench in the dying minutes. Certainly worth a pay as you play deal. He's got the pace, height and strength to open the door for players like Fryatt. He even provides a little bit of class which i'm not sure Adebola has.
It usually criteria set. For example if you get in the starting 11 and play xx amount of games, you get the offer of another 1 year contract. It can work 2 ways though, put the player in the shop window (he's not obligated to sign that extension) get himself a move elsewhere, which seems harsh having done all the hard work regarding a trial etc
Really? You could still then secure a fee if he had time left on his contract. I think Koren is the midfielder we need. When Stewart is back on the RW Koren could play the attacking cm.
