I forgot to add that Ollie still found room to play Chery that wasn't in a 4-2-3-1. Something JFH said couldn't be done.

Did I see this right, but during the 1st half when Hall pushed up into the holding midfield role, Perch dropped back into the back 3 and Chery moved wide right, so we kinda played 3-1-4-2.......or did i just imagine that?

We have to remember that we played the entire game against ten men, that would have had an influence on formations.

You can vote 'yes' now and if Ollie is not up to it, we can soon include him in the poll as well!
We QPR fans are a fickle bunch.

Thanks for all the first hand opinions on Saturdays game lads. I am delighted it went well against 10 men. Unfortunately, I will not judge Ollie based on one game. JFH may have done many things wrong in his 12 months here. Ollie could easily turn out to be worse. I hope not but it is way too early to be making comparisons.

    Another saying......it's a marathon not a sprint.

The question was 'are you glad JFH has gone?' rather than whether Ollie will be successful here. A resounding yes from me.

I will only be glad once it is proven we have replaced him with something better. If Ollie turns out to be worse, I won't be very happy we got rid of JFH - hence why I am sitting on the fence for the time being.

You said you wouldn't attend any QPR games whilst Ramsey remained in charge. JFH's tenure was on a par or even worse than Ramsey's ( I can't be arsed to research the stats, but I've laid them out on here before) but you're backing him? Make your mind up. JFH was clueless. I wanted him to succeed as much as anyone but we were going backwards with him in charge. Under JFH the club was soulless, the ground was soulless and the football was soulless. Holloway is a marked improvement on all three counts. What exactly is it you want? Were you happy with us watching JFH's brand of football?

''If Ollie turns out to be worse, I won't be very happy we got rid of JFH '' would assume to mean that you was happy with him in charge over the present incumbent Fin.
Only time will tell if you were correct or indeed if I am. I've already presented the evidence of why Ollie is already a better choice but you chose to ignore it for some strange reason. Last Saturday may have only been only one game, but I doubt many of us would've expected us to win that fixture under Hasslebaink and his medieval football. A draw at best? Holloway won it by being adventurous, and he had LR bouncing again.

Even if we finish up in the same position as last seasons I would rather we do it in Holloway's way than JFH's. At least it will be entertaining.

Sorry 999;s there is no proof that I backed JFH in any way. I haven't backed him on here for at least a couple of months. It is all hypothetical as to whether Olly will be any better and personally, I will only believe that he is in a few months time when I have judged for myself as to whether things are indeed better. One game is only one game and is no way to judge anybody, good or bad. Olly could turn out to be worse for all we know and then what????

    If we want to go back as far as Ramsey and positions I held on manager's they are as follows;

    Ramsey
His experience was that of a youth team coach as that was all he managed. I voiced my opinions on here that TF was making a huge mistake as he has ZERO experience of managing a first team squad. I said I disagreed with his appointment and that I refused to go until he was sacked. He was sacked about 2 days and then I went to see a game again. I stuck to my word on the issue.

    JFH
I backed his appointment as he was young and potentially up and coming as he had managed to get a small club promoted to L1 from L2. Unlike Ramsey, I thought he was worth a go. Last season I gave him some grace as I thought he was working with Ramsey;s squad and I hoped things would improve this season. Despite a promising pre-season and start to the league, things went downhill steadily. Was JFH crap when we were top of the table after 2 matches and we were playing smashing? Anyway, that is not relevant anymore as things got steadily worse until the point where he was deservedly sacked. I never stated anything other than he deserved it.

    The Poll
The poll at the top is on whether people are glad he is gone. I will only be glad when I am assured we have replaced with him with somebody who has proved over a period of time that things have changed. Not somebody who has proven that over one game and who could (I sincerely hope not) prove to be worse that what we have gotten rid of.

I hope my position is clear. I am in no way backing JFH. All I am saying is, Olly may or may not prove to be better. Time will tell and then I will state whether I am happy or not that we got rid of JFH.

    Fair enough, mate.

I think we all wanted JFH to succeed but probably fair to say, we could all see he was, as Nines put it, soulless and clueless.
Whether Ollie is up for it, time will tell but at least he portrays some real passion, possibly a bit more experience than the past two managers.

Again, naturally ........... the jury is still out and will be for some time l would assume.

I stand corrected but if you were to ask me where Ollie may stuff up, I would be concerned that he may talk to the media a little too much and suffer 'foot in mouth' issues to the point, he may back himself into a corner.

Until then, he has my full support and even when thing go limp, l at least know the guy is genuinely passionate about the club and not just here for the dollars
( with a few trips to Singapore thrown in.).

Ollie is Blue & White ............. lets get behind him with equal passion.

What Finglas and Aussie are saying is completely far enough. When we have a new manager we all so want him to succeed..I have always, even Chris Ramsey. But he showed that being totally nice and very honest (remember who went before him) was not enough. Then we went to young and hungry with JFH...and at the start of the season perhaps we thought he was...but football so turgid and frightened was as someone said "sucking the soul" out of the club and supporters. So again like with Ramsey, we have decided to swing to the diametrically opposite, and gone for someone with passion.

Am I glad JFH is gone yes....it was desperate watching Rangers in the last few months, it was absolutely no fun going to matches.....would we have been ever been promoted like that, never in a 1000 years....so it was not the way forward.

Is Ollie the way forward, yes....because it gives us back life and hope and passion..
..Will he get us promoted....I don't know...but in a slight way I don't care...because we were going nowhere and it was under a gloomy cloud.

Ollies remit is to get this group of players with passion....because as I have said repeatively, this squad of players is on paper, good enough to be challenging for top 6 places...but on the pitch (eg vs Brentford)..was in desperate danger of challenging for relegation.

I so hope he succeeds, but I hope that of everyone who manages my club.....the start of the journey is always exciting as you never know where it is going......And because I have bought in to Ollies passion I am happy to go along

I defended him until the Brentford game but when you look at the results and performances over his tenure it was quite painful viewing.

They could've replaced JFH with a dried up old bogey and I'd have been satisfied that it was an improvement...

...but sadly he went to the Villa.

It's done so we move on

I defended JFH back in what now is history because we all wanted a fresh young promising manager who would bring in hungry fresh players from the lower leagues or abroad

So I face the mirror knowing that is what we got and the idea was to build and stabilse the club

What happened is we lost patience very quickly ... such is football today

So we can only deal with today

We only remember the good bits in life and then we all bullshit those up

I have seen plenty of QPR games over the years that had QPR sides that wouldn't compete in non league football

We have Holloway and Bircham now and both are characters with QPR blood so how can anyone on here not deal with that fact ... it's real so enjoy the next challenge it's away to Ipswich nothing else should matter

Within 2 weeks it already feels like a football club again. The managers we've had in recent years, whether they've tried to use us as a project, a job, a stepping stone or whatever, have been fine when it has looked like it's been going well (usually very briefly) but when it's gone awry they've always spoken about us in quite dispassionate terms.

I'd rather we fail, if we are going to, with someone in charge who you know will do absolutely everything in their power, to whom each defeat will hurt, than trudge along in mediocrity with people who outwardly seem disinterested.

JFH lost me when his petty greed bubbled to the surface. I benefitted by not having to endure the football and was happy enough with how the club was trying to operate until he showed himself to be someone I couldn't respect (which I appreciate are not universal grounds to back a manager or otherwise).

It really does feel like we have our heart and soul back and it's the best I've felt, barring the final moments of our play-off winning season and the season under Warnock.

I'll take that and cannot wait for Saturday.

The Brentford game was the final straw for me also, we were beyond dismal and the end was definitely nye.
Roller quoted a comment from Judo I think it was, that he felt the life had been sucked out of the club under JFH. That summed it up perfectly for me.
