    Rick has had a couple of opportunities where he could've killed Negan, like that whole episode where he was walking around alexandria with his bat and had several moments alone with him when he could've easily cracked him. But it's a gamble isn't it because he'd be relying on it triggering one of several things

    a) the Saviours being happy the dictator was dead and walking away from it with no reprisal
    b) a new more reasonable leader being ready to emerge and control their masses
    c) a civil war breaking out amongst them

    Rick obviously has no idea what might happen so he's choosing not to take the gamble right now

    Saw Arrival this week. Really really good film. If you're expecting bombastic, gung-ho, dicks out alien invasion v humans though it's probably not the film for you, it's more about ideas and concept but it's terrific and surprising.
