I think the Chelsea game is going to define our season. Either they are going to smash us and our season will just crumble, or we'll beat them and kick on in the league.

Trippier is actually taking the piss with his performance. He has been disgraceful

 

There's no urgency, no sense that this matters to any of them. It has the same air as the Newcastle debacle last season. Have we made a conscious decision to throw the tournament and focus on the league? Were Poch's comments after the Leverkusen defeat regarding lack of squad depth more than just a complaint? Was he waving the flag? Knowing as he probably does that we don't stand a chance in the latter stages of this competition, is he wondering as am I - what does progressing do for us other than clog the fixture list? Is the Europa a better option at this stage to give the youngsters more game time?

I'm groping in the dark for answers and perhaps they're just the most painfully obvious ones.
