We do have the wherewithall but we have not shown our best very often, last one being against City. Any team that can make City look ordinary is seriously good. Spurs are but they have just not shown it this season. How much of that is down to a lack of Dembele and a misfiring timid looking Eriksen would be interesting to know.
team: Lloris (C), Trippier, Dier, Wimmer, Rose, Wanyama, Dembele, Winks, Son, Dele, Kane. Subs: Vorm, Vertonghen, Walker, Eriksen, Sissoko, Nkoudou, Janssen.
With this is the result, a draw tonight is not fatal to us. We'd be relying on Monaco beating Leverkeusen in Germany though. CSKA are out.
Very pleased with the team - whichever way this goes, we have a manager with a colossal pair of balls. Giving starts to Wimmer and Winks in a must-win CL game away from home is a huge statement of trust in those players. Although his overall performance against Arsenal wasn't great, Wimmer's mentality was exceptionally impressive. Early yellow card and disastrous own goal but he held it together and put in a strong display in the second half. More of that tonight plus a circa 2015-16 performance and we'll be fine. Bottom line is, with Bayer drawing in Moscow, Monaco are all but through. They will sit deep and play for a draw - a point tonight and we can't catch them so they'll be through. We MUST take advantage of that and learn from our mistakes at Wembley where they caught us on the break time and again.
Lloris Trips Dier kev rose Wanyama Dembele Winks Dele Son Kane Wanyama, Dembele, Winks and dele are a diamond.
The huge bonus of the Leverkusen draw is that a big enough win tonight sees us leapfrog them into 2nd. Going into the last round of games not playing catch-up will have tremendous psychological advantages, especially with all the bad karma we get at Wembley.
A win here would also mean CSKA would have nothing to play for in the last game and mean even top of the group is up for grabs. Lose and we're out
