One thing you have to admire Pardew for is his cynicism.

After a recent home defeat, he headed straight for a local "Palace pub" after the game with Keith Millen.

The message then conveniently leaked out that Pardew was "feeling the pain like other Palace fans" and wanted them to know he is "one of us" drowning his sorrows and speaking to the man in the street blah blah blah.

Brilliant stuff, almost worthy of Meire. Can you picture any other Premier League manager pandering for his job like this?

I'd love it, just love it, if he tried to go and have a drink in a Charlton fans' pub.

38 year old Paul Robinson starts ahead of Pope. They can't think too highly of him!

Worth reading palace fans reaction to pards post match comments on Twitter.

If another chairman gives him a contract for more than a year, then they deserve 7 years bad luck. I think that's what happened to us.

Declan Rudd rumoured to have played his last game for us.

Out injured for a month - and struggling Norwich said to want him back in January.

I have to say I wasn't entirely convinced by Dillon Phillips on Saturday

Ideally yes, but he's had a season with Cheltenham in L2, and we're only L1. He wasn't getting that experience sitting on the bench, and now he's got a chance to show what he's made of. He's always been a brilliant shot-stopper, not so hot on distribution. Remind you of anyone?

It's a shame his brother Dillon is ahead of him in the pecking order then!

I knew that our experienced goalkeeping was going to haunt us, especially after selling all of them. You know Stephen Henderson was out when he openly spoke out against the ownership. They'll sign us another two CBs in Jan.

I've been more impressed by Phillips than I was with Pope. His distribution against Sheff Utd was poor but he made some top saves and took his crosses well.

If he'd stayed where he was it would have been a simple catch. He was furious with himself too. Maybe credit goes to the scorer- Mendonca used to make goalies go the wrong way with his eyes. He'll learn.

I like Phillips, I assume we're paying a fair whack of Rudd's wages, let him go back there as I've not been particularly impressed with him and get a centre back in, I think we only had two on the bench the other day?

Darts maestro Eric Bristow sacked by Sky Sports today, after Tweeting that the abused footballers should have sorted it out with the nonce when they were "older and fitter"

    Thoughts?

    Seems harsh.

It's the sort of thing blokes say in the pub when they've had a few. Bristow was wrong to go public though. It comes across as a judgement on the victims, which is why Sky did the right thing.
