If you mean do I rate our chances of getting into the top division anytime soon ? Then frankly no I don't.
There are at least 10 or more better teams than us in this league.
But it's also a building process, and a midtable finish is still acceptable providing we continue to invest in the RIGHT players.

Mr McInnes and Mr O'Driscoll had to deliver massive savings in wages as well as keeping the club stable. Mr O'Driscoll during his role had to deal with BCFC operating 190% past turnover - Bristol City financially were one the worst performing football clubs in the UK not just the Championship.

The BIG mistake was allowing the club to get into that mess in the first place, hopefully such recklessness is now in the past.

I think what John meant was the best season in living memory has to be winning promotion to the old first division, that's how I took it and have to agree!!

My favourite season was the 1st season back in the 1st Division.
Arsenal away 1st game, the greatest defender I've ever seen joined in the Autumn, and the last 2 games in 4 days - Liverpool home in front of 38,000 and Coventry away.

Have to say the Cotterill promotion year was unbelievable, it seemed home or away we'd win every week.

Yes I'd echo those semtiments about both - wouldn't it be great to replicate that by getting to the Premier League!

Was at all those games mentioned, great times. Nearly got my head bashed in at Highbury, fortunate both clubs had red n white scarfs so coming across a bunch of burly Arsenal fans we just had to keep our mouths shut!!!
I do agree, to a degree regarding the Cotterill promotion season, it was unbelievable and great times, but League 1 is a totally different animal compared to the championship, in fact possibly one of the best leagues in the world. With what ever manager we have it will be difficult to get out of.....To the prem that is!!

'Nearly got my head bashed in at Highbury' - Ditto.

'what would you do different?' - Ok 1For, I usually charge but for you it's free. :emoticon-0115-inlov
There are numerous problems Junior has, mainly himself, but here's a few bits of advice.

    1. In general management - Never berate an employee in front of an audience.
If you HAVE to criticise in front of a camera or in the press ffs take some on the chin yourself.
    You're in it together.

    2. Football management - keep a settled side and set up.
Players are like my grandchildren, they love routine.

    3. We have enough 'journeyman', in the next 2 windows he should go for quality not numbers.
A top Keeper, RB, Midfielder and Striker should be his targets.

What do you reckon 1For ?

    1. I agree
    2. I do agree, but if it's not working then the manager will be criticised if he doesn't change it (Cotts downfall)
    3. 100% Agreed, but they will come at a cost and probably rare too, he could probably spend the money, but one hic-up/not winning promotion and he will be deemed a failure....I can hear it now "with the budget he's had we should be champions of Europe"!!
