the issue was not about policing. as the LPU commander from cheshire will tell you, he was asked to provide manpower and refused as he thought it was too heavy handed He was willing to provide police presence to 'march' alongside (the usual protocol) and ensure that there was no trouble The recent EDL marches attest to this theory What was being asked for was riot police, to come into a town and basically force back the locals from going out as in lines and lines of police marching army style shouting 'get back' etc funnily enough the first fracas was with a few white irish youth It was portrayed as asian riots, when in fact it was all the community
And if the police weren't between the BNP and the Asian community, then what would happen, TFWNN? Would you stand between the two groups if you weren't in riot gear? I certainly wouldn't. They are everywhere now, Most have left enfield. Gunshots have been heard along with petrol bombs constantly going off. This feels like a revolution.
