No, Nugent said after the game yesterday that it definitely won't be him but that he would stay as the assistant if asked.

Normally a new manager gets to choose his own assistant - ours will be presented with 3 already in place

Managers seem to be drifting in and out of the reckoning as they look at the state of our club and say No Thanks. Steve Evans, Nigel Adkins, Gary Caldwell, JFH and now even the abject Karl Robinson. The bar is getting lower and lower. O'Leavitahrt hasn't actually said he won't take it, only the CEO has said that, so The Don could still collect.

Can you imagine Meire's conversation when any half serious applicant got the manager's job...

"Welcome ...and here is your new assistant manager Chris O'Loughlin. You must have heard of him?"

Martin Allen on C5- "I feel for the Charlton fans. What are the owners doing there? What manager in his right mind would want to go there?"

Johnny Jackson blanked him yesterday When he went to talk to him. Nugent was also quite dismissive of him in his interview on BBC London.

Don't know, but his odds have lengthened again, as has happened with all the other alleged candidates. If they can't get anyone else to take the job, would they dare geive it to O'Verandout? You bet they would, out of spite. Remember it's Roland's call.

Did you see much of Meire yesterday from where you were sitting?

What I did see was loads of empty seats. It looked more like an Under 23 game. I would hazard a guess that there were 5500 people there. I didn't see much of Meire. It was like a morgue, even when we scored there wasn't much noise.

I've seen the photos, pitiful attendance. I see they've appointed a new liar-in-chief, sorry, head of comms.

dont really rate robinson. the year we got promoted from L1 i remember him declaring he didnt rate us and that his mk franchise team were the best in the league.

and that was despite us going on to break records...

He's always had an arrogance air about him. Id say his biggest asset is his contacts, he's often managed to pluck decent young players from some of the bigger clubs.

He's a bit of a tosser. And he at one point rated Simon Church...

I imagine if he were to want the job he could sell some spiel about working with youth products (like Dele Ali). That may appeal greatly to the board.

I know its bald men fighting over a comb, but I would rather have Caldwell than Karl Robinson. The former comes across as a decent bloke with a bit of integrity about him. Robinson is a twat.

Neither do much to inspire me, it's still the cheap option. A club who seriously wanted to turn their season around would go after the best man for the job, regardless.

We are showing once again the will to go for a manager who's unemployed. That's the first box ticked in terms of criteria.
