Why would SKY,be on our side?They would be delighted to see ourselves and a couple of other smaller clubs relegated and replaced by teams like Newcastle, Leeds and Villa, or even Wednesday with larger grounds and larger, more vociferous away followings which would improve the atmosphere on TV. They would rather have slightly,but not much, larger clubs like Derby who,would sell out every week or Brighton and Norwich whose crowds remained the same after relegation. We can't get the local media on our side, never mind the national one.
It's simply not true that the local media are not on our side. It might have taken them too long to come out openly against the Allams, but they got there in the end.
You mean by reporting and headlining that rubbish last week about Hull City having the cheapest seats in the PL ? The ticketing policy at City should have been a major topic in the local rag when it was first announced not ignored. Can you imagine the local rag in Newcastle or Sunderland keeping quiet if they suddenly abolished all concessions for kids and OAP's ? and then had the cheek to call the membership scheme ( which all of football fought against when Thatcher tried to introduce it, for those who had forgot) 'Earn you stripes' ? Too little too late.

I've just been reading some of the old threads on the name change, some of the stuff posted was hilarious. Some rather ironic as well, I suspect someone could now do brisk business producing some 'Allam's a ****' hip flasks.

Happy to sit on the fence and do nowt, like far too many people in Hull and the East Riding. Coming back on the Transpennine train on Saturday night, the larky driver announced final stop Hull - City of Culture 2017 and made made some sniggering piss-taking comment about the fact. He was a local too. That's why we are where we are, too many locals don't believe, don't buy into it and are just happy to do **** all, ridicule their own team , city and area. Success breeds success. Lack of it, it seems, breeds negative cynicism, till failure becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Often wondered why so many people who rubbish the city so much don't **** off elsewhere to somewhere they do like, support the local winning football team they can then finally be enthusiastic about. It would certainly improve things for the rest of us. but I suppose they don't the balls to do it.
