    @Diego

What is going on with Mkhitaryan? It sickens me to see such a quality player not being involved.

Loved Klopps comment post match, as much as he's a bit nuts he's also very level headed.

    The comment was something like...

Sometimes you lose these games because you keep trying and nothing works and you get frustrated.

How many times have we seen that over the years?

A good point yesterday, it happens suck it up and on to the next game.

Finally got around to watching the highlights - Firmino and Clyne should have scored.

But some of our football is brilliant at times. We're still creating clear chances and we maintained a lot of control whilst Firmino would have been clean through had van Dijk not pulled him back. Another positive performance.

at least we now seem to be able to defend when we can't score.

Fraser Foster did well, even Claude Puel is complimenting him.

We are going to have games like this throughout the season, we only need to take our chances. Firmino's shirt was pulled
by the last defender and the officials failed to spot it. Sending off, could have made the difference.

Frustrating game to watch but on a positive note, it reminds the team that they are not invincible and there's always room to improve.

meh... he missed a glorious chance later. most efforts were actually off target again.

we get so many chances we seem to ignore the lethality or lack there of of some players.

mane loves to hit it high. every goal i think he's put in roof of net but he#s missed a lot

    firmino misses a lot

    Sure.

But we can't have too many of those "great performance but we'll take a draw" scenarios. Especially when the likes of City and Chelsea are grinding wins, away from home. These draws will come home to roost when points are counted at the end of the season. A draw is of course better than a defeat but on the basis of the performances we should still be on top and not joint second. We could and should have put some distance between us and Spurs and Arsenal, both unbelievably lucky to have any points <doh>

Good game, just lacked the finishing, apart from a block shot in the first and missed header in the second, we restricted them to little else.
Great to be on the front foot at a tricky ground against a good side.
Burnley and Utd to a lesser extent were only going to defend and hit us on the counter, thought Southampton wouldn't do that, but I guess the way they setup was a backhanded compliment to the way we're playing right now.
Sunderland will pack the defence too, the only way the go to plan B, C, D.. is if we get an early goal!

Southampton are just coming back from humiliation by Hull city. Good team do not lose two in a roll, also they have not played in Euro
in midweek. I think Sunderland are going to be the whipping boys on Saturday.

That proverbial first goal is going to be all important.

If Moyes has any brain cells, he'll go all out for a point. That is defending with 10 men behind the ball. If they concede the first goal in the first half an hour, the flood gates will open. For them in a relegation fight, it is not only the issue of zero points, it is also the negative goal diference if they get thrashed and which will be significant at the end of the season.

If they manage to keep it goalless in the first 30-40 minutes, it might get frustrating for us. But will Moyes have too much pride to park the double decker bus?

It is a sucker punch, how we move on from this result will tell a tale. Southampton grabbed a draw AT city which makes this result not seem so bad.
