I actually strangely enjoyed Saint's time in League I know Leicester blitzed it in their year down there, didn't they get 100+ points ?

 

Yeah to be fair the miserable years we endured beforehand were worse.

Losing at home and then having to listen to Hollowhead have a jolly with the press. Fell out of love with football for a while. League One was actually great. We played good football and won 2/3/4-0 every week.

 

It was the same at Saints. The two years before relegation to League 1 were among the darkest in the entire history of the club. Playing ****e football with ****e players players on the brink of financial ruin. The following two years in league 1 were a very refreshing change and it was strange to be the 'big guns' with the highest wages and transfer fees with the marquee players winning regularly, despite the general standard of the league itself.

It's mad when you think of the team Saints had during our stay in league 1. Fonte, Lallana, Chamberlain, Lambert, Hammond (who went on to play for yourselves after Saints and was a handy player), Puncheon and Schneiderlin.
