Is the population of Tottenham Greek or are they just a disgrace?

How can they destroy things like that. The reconstruction will provide work for someone though.

I know a Turkish person who would ask whether there is a difference (his attitude to Greeks is the stereotypical Scottish attitude to the English).

Very sad to hear about Severin. He wasn't a fantastic player but he was a committed one. I've always got time for that sort of player: if he doesn't work out it's down to the manager to stop picking him, which in fairness Malky did.

I can understand what happened yesterday. Legitimate protest boiled over, and people looking for a fight jumped on the bandwagon.

Bring back the noose to deal with the ****s responsible for the trouble tonight, I say.

Certainly not defending the people responsible, just saying I can understand how legitimate, peaceful protest can escalate. Similarly I can understand how the police could have underestimated it and were very reluctant to inflame the situation (poor choice of words I know).

The trouble in Enfield tonight is completely different. The police should crack down on it extremely harshly.

Agree with NNW Hoping the instigators are brought to justice , and not at the tax payers expense !!! I have a certain sympathy with the bring back hanging argument when guilt is proved 100%

There is no excuse whatsoever for people to behave in such a way. How can a peaceful person see his protest escalate and not just walk away? He/She is either peaceful or not.

If you pursue the violent route , then imo you give up your human rights! and should be judged accordingly!

Tottenham is a unique situation, as they have historically had poor relations with the police. It would only have taken two or three troublemakers to start things off, the police turning up in riot gear and people who intended to protest peacefully believing the police were after them, for the whole thing to spiral out of control.

Enfield is completely different, 99% of the people involved there are guilty as sin.

Maybe I'm overreacting with the noose remarks. But I'll tell you what. Stick people who have been 100% identified as looters under military arrest for a fortnight, and see how many of them reoffend.

Its a crying shame the UK cant afford to bring back National Service ! although with some of the plebs on the streets today I wouldnt wish them on the armed forces unless as targets!

I have been into Tottenham because of family links and would agree that there is a bad attitude between SOME of the inhabitants and the police. From my observations it has been due in part to the lack of strong family ties and the general lack of respect from SOME of the young for the advice that they might be given by elders, school teachers or community leaders etc.

Right time to go and set the alarm to get me up for my French lesson in the morning.

By the way anyone seen my old comfortable armchair recently? I do hope it has not been removed as a health hazard.:(

If you have any doubt about one that you come across being mine, there should be a cheese and pickle sandwich tucked down between the arm and cushion in case a sudden hunger attack overcomes me. ;)

Who was expected to pay for the upholstery job?

I do hope that she has good taste and it doesn't come back with squeeky imitation leather. ;)

Evening all. That was an interesting weekend. A half-decent result for the golden boys, a draw seemed fair according to my dad who was listening in. But to loose a lead was a shame. But its only week one and anything could happen. A point away and 3 at home every week would see us safe, so we can but wait and see.
