Mr. Lines, I´m no different, I also expected us to compete, the difference is that I didn´t expect us necessarily to compete for the top two positions, (see #117). I happen to think that the players we have are not an awful lot better than what we are seeing at the moment, and even with a new manager, very little will change. If however, a change of manager does materialise, and we then go on to win our next 25 games, then great, even I´ll be singing in the streets, but I´m afraid I just don´t see that happening.
Makes a very good point about that 6-2 thumping at the hands of Toon. It is fair to say until that game AN appeared to be in full control (or as near as possible), with a game-plan in mind (an effective one) and yes, since then he has been on the back foot and more indecisive and cautious; the consequence being what we are witnessing this season. Perhaps he really is a rabbit caught in headlights, not knowing which way to turn.
AN needs to go NOW, we need to clear out some deadwood in January and follow that up with a good clear out in the summer. The above needs to happen irrespective of whether we get promoted, relegated or remain in this division.
He signed for an 'undisclosed fee' believed to be circa £10m. And we spent 85% of that on Steven Naismith
Derby changed manager and are climbing the league! Same goes for Cardiff, Villa, and now QPR etc so your argument is wrong!
Plus Newcastle, the other favourites to do well, are performing just as all the pundits predicted. Five points clear at the top as I type, thirteen (13) points ahead of us with a GD of +22. Odd how they can play to form and we get progressively more clueless with each passing week?
He came to Carrow rd passed a medical and was close to signing in Jan before Injuries meant Palace kept him. We should have gone all out and paid the money at the end of the season when he was available. I'm guessing we screwed them around offering less than the asking price so Newcastle stepped in. Another terrible mistake especially as we forked out over inflated prices for Naismith and Pritchard who have done very little.
The fee for Naismith at his age was ridiculous we will be lucky to get half that back . Pritchard is still young enough to come good if he can get a game.
Posted this earlier today, but several 'interesting' readers' comments have been added since, notably Nos 11, 12 and 15. http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...render-another-trip-to-loftus-road-pointless/
Wouldn't have mattered who we signed as a forward/striker, if they scored 3 in every game our defence would have let in 4!!!
I said this right at the beginning, and its not hindsight! WTF possessed that mans thinking to do that to our club? It was obvious that all Naismith was after was a last high wage packet and saw us as his pension pot.
Love it - but oh dear, you have got a chip on your shoulder, haven´t you? and maybe those clubs you named are making progress, but I´ll still wait to see it here first, before I´ll believe it.
No maybe about it they are...they saw a problem and acted quickly and it's working for them, but you think that we are an exception to that rule. As I've said before you don't have to sit in a quiet stadium watching the team fail the same way week after week!
