Thank goodness O'Kane is it. Very strong team from Newcastle. I can see a sending off today, a few missed pens and a 0-0 draw...
Mate, that was a howler, should have tipped it over for a corner like the Newcastle keeper did with Aylings looping header
Totally in control ..score goal..foot off gas..stop pressing them let them them back in the game. Seems to be a recurring pattern..not sure what it is meant to achieve mind Edit: Ooops wrong thread lads...
we picked it up a bit in last 15 mins or so and had the better of the possession but didn't do much with it. We need to keep that momentum going and create more chances on goal.
Not convinced but I'm a Newcastle fan so there you go. We're lucky to be winning at half-time, I had this down as a draw and from the last 15-20 mins of that half it's hard to see us holding out if you carry on like that. We do this a lot, look the better team, get our noses in front and then stop - most of our games this season have been rather tight. Plenty to happen yet...
Firstly, Newcastle are by far the better team and look very dangerous. Not many teams are going to be taking points off them between now and the end of the season. But... 50/50 decisions all going Newcastle's way, some repetitive fouls and couple of possible cards not given yet the first time the ref pulls it out is for our player over protesting. Penalty it would have been given were it at St James and in Newcastle's favour, they nearly always go in favour of the home team, I am never one to bleat on about a ref but today's is poor. For me Vieira, Roofe, Phillips are poor but we can't take them all off. I would switch Doukara over to the middle, drag off Roofe and Vieira and put on Sacko and Dallas.
The pen shout was iffy..(same as the one in the first few mins when your defender pushed Lascalles in the back) The reffing in the Championship is very very very poor (worked both for and against us)
