Makes me laugh we all hated him when he won that soft pen for West Brom - I think its fair to say he is forgiven
Just seen us on MOTD, we don't look like a side that deserves to be relegated anymore. Even if Anichebe hadn't scored he would have had a cracking game and all he was doing was receiving the ball to feet and using his strength and intelligence to do something with it. A world apart from Fletcher and his clever twat backheels that never worked and getting pushed over constantly with no subsequent free kick. Anichebe has singlehandedly unlocked the potential in the side. He allows us to keep the ball in attack, he knows when and where his teammates will be and he can do it against any defence in the league, there aren't many stronger defenders that I can think of. Beast mode. Pickford was even better than I thought at the time, I think we've found Denayer's position, PVA was amazing blocking shots on the line and set Anichebe up, loads and loads of positives. Only three points away from escaping the bottom three.
I reckon we could buy Denayer if we wanted him, he's decent but he's definitely not Man City quality, I can't see him in their first team. He looked good today, better than Cattermole and Rodwell.
It's been heavenly. The fact that when they beat us they were over in the masses and we've barely had a single visitor this evening just shows what childish bunch wums most of them are. As most of us have always maintained.
I'm not so sure about that, personally. He may not be CL quality yet, but he's very young still, especially for a defender. You could argue he's better than John Stones (I never got the hype about that lad though) already, and younger, and Man City just splashed £50m on him...
I think the Hull players gave up trying to mark him and put 2 players on where they thought he was going to pass. Best display in a Sunderland shirt since Varga against Arsenal imo.
That's because, unlike you, we were in Sunderland. Great finishing from Defoe and Anichebe and some great keeping from Pickford gave you a very flattering result, in general play, you were terrible. On that showing, we're both going down. Good luck for the rest of the season.
He was ****e. You weren't wrong. He probably needed the reality check of being tossed on the scrap heap to get his mind back in the game, now he looks like he's turned a corner, good for you and him.
A bit more stylishily hard and seems to be starting a career revival - he began move for Defoes goal with his hold up play to win the ball in the midfield - hope Nigeria don't call him up for ACON - Onwards - KTF
Bar a couple of their posters, they are a bunch of jumped-up, classless ****s. If they were to collapse and tumble down through the leagues I would not give one ****.
True, true. He was very good yesterday, if he keeps that up and improves on it then you might be right about him being good enough for them. I wouldn't have said he was better than M'Vila though and we could (and bloody well should) have signed him. Either way it's great that we've got someone for the holding role given that half the squad is missing for that position.
I was wrong about Anichebe. I'm hoping that I'm going to have been wrong about Moyes. Things are looking rosier but we still need to do much better in the January transfer window. I hope our improvements don't mean that Short, Bain etc think they can get away with just papering over the cracks.
