    Kovalev Vs Ward

    Boxing opoofianados have been looking forward to this one since it was made. It still feels like a bit of a trade fight despite both guys being dominant in their divisions.

    I keep changing my mind but it is time to nail the colours to the mast.

    Ward by wide decision. He's that good.

    Think he's ok. Took a ****er of a beating. Not being a smart arse but I noticed he was blinking quite hard very early on. It put me in mind of McClellan, Nick Blackwell and that boy Mike Perez bashed up.

    Not as blatant. But it did remind me a bit of it. Groves was hitting him hard.... A lot.

    Obviously his corner know him better than me but he looked ****ed a few times. Groves was poor first 3 rounds but he looked decent after that. Selby was class.

    Just catching up with the boxing on channel 5 catch up from earlier. First fights been quite good. Never heard of either of them though.

    I recorded it and watched it early this morning and for the first time in my life I scored the fight, I had Ward by 2 rounds. Wasn't surprised the judges had it so close or that Ward won by 1 round, he was just doing that bit more in the later rounds I thought.

    Can't understand how some people had Kovalev by 5 or 6 rounds, I know he got the knockdown but other than that and some good work in the early rounds he done very little. The last 6 rounds he barely caught Ward. Just goes to show how subjective the sport is.

    It was a close fight, some rounds were being won on jabs! It was a hard fight to score, if Kovalev had won by a round then id say fair enough but how "experts" can have him by 5 rounds is a mystery.

    The Perez fight before it was a joke on the scorecards as well, the boy hooker( good name for a boxer) got a doing but boxing politics got him a draw.
