Not quite. His pass completion rate was 91% which is utterly phenomenal for your first PL start. What stands out for me though is how he seems comfortable on the ball EVERYWHERE, as that map demonstrates. Really impressive and should now be seeing game time more regularly, especially with Eriksen playing as poorly as he is.
Great win, not in spite of the fact we played poorly, but because of it. I believe confidence makes all the difference in a game with margins as fine as the PL. I was so impressed with the night and day reactions after our first two goals. Winks was as thrilled a human being as I have seen. Then Kane sprinted into the goal, came out with the ball in his arms and ran the other way to avoid wasting time on celebrations when the game was still winnable. Pochettino got the tactics wrong, but the decision to start Winks more than makes up for that.
We need to send a team of scouts out to find someone called Harry Alderweireld and we'll be unstoppable.
It's amazing how your mood changes. Up until we equalized I was resigned to losing and ready to look for an argument, then Kane pops two in and all is sweetness and light.
If Spurs won the PL or CL, then if enough charidee money was fronted up then manager + squad should change their first name by deed poll for a season to "Harry" .
Still boiling about Eriksens' general performances this season. IMHO Pochettino should drop him to set an example, but we have nobody else.
