    A point's a point <ok>

... when did saints get so dirty? They defended well, offered nothing going forward, we had a couple of penalty shouts, shirt pull on Coutinho being the clearest one. Really needed to establish our position by taking all the points but we played well enough so no real worries.

When we are chasing the title this is 2 points dropped. Whatever gloss we may wish to put on it.

Southampton is not one of the top 6 so we expect to win

Lallana missing wasn't the issue today. What did we not do that we would have done with him?

We created plenty of chances, there was plenty of creativity. Just didn't take our chances. One of those days, all in all not a bad point away from home. Clean sheet too.

Fantastic save by their keeper early on too - from Mané shot I think.

    Nothing to be worried about.
Created some really good chances. On another day we bury half of them.
    Point gained on last season.
No-one can moan about our defence this week. Clean sheet (apparently its what champions do)

However.... Studge should of started or at least come on for 30 minutes. Why play both Coutinho & Firmino . No need given long travel. I know we don't have a game till next weekend but if we really expect to keep Studge, then he has to be given game time and today would of been perfect.

On to Sunderland at home next week. :emoticon-0167-beer:

Should have won, simple as that. We dominated and had more than enough chances, but were so wasteful. Virgil Van Dijk had a great game for them.

IMO forester's saves were just ok, nothing unexpected. both were nice heights to bat away.

can missed terribly and firmino should have scored... end of. both those changes should have gone in.

Van Dijk was brilliant. really great defense.

other players were let away with pull after pull.... and milner was allowed to get away with murder too. poor reffing there

Firmino was a dive also... yeah its a pull but he flopped over... never getting that.

Well that was two points lost, though I said that when we played Swansea we should have been dead and buried at half time, so what goes around and all that. CBA doing ratings for the whole team, but boquets for Ford in the second half and Milner, apart from his crossing and cutbacks. Brickbats for Can, who moves more and more like Maevin from the Hitchhiker's Guide, to Firmino who is not even a false 10, never mind a false nine, and to Jurgen for the bizarre decision to not bring Studge and/or Origi on until the 70-oddth minute.

And well defended Soton - couple of last gasp tackles on Ford and Mane that were breathtaking. ****s.

I think our Southampton buy this year should Van Dijk, really class player. He is fast and a big unit as well as having great positional sense. Reminded me of Hypia

    He'd cost a fortune I reckon. £50m easily.

Think we have a better chance of getting Tah

We had the chance to buy him before he went to Soton. Shame we didn't act on the interest.

Didn't see the game today because I was at some wedding exhibition. Heard we dominated and had chances. Soton are a good team and to play like that and give very little way shows how far we have come.

Our attack will have an off day but as long as we don't concede, then it's not so bad.

Fair play to spirs for getting their player out of england duty so he could score 2 and win the game for them.

    Lesson learned?
