    Quick summary:

Forster looked back to his best. Glad he pulled out of the England squad.

Defence and Romeu were great as usual

Boufal needs to be told not to fall over all the time.

Anyone that says Martina is better then Cedric has now been proven wrong.

This formation still doesn't suit Davis. He is decent at helping the defence but can not link up the midfield to attack.

We missed Tadic badly, like crazy. To say he is our most important player is a understatement.

Not really, and it wasn't entirely his fault today as he got no service or support, but we badly need a striker who actually scores goals.

Harry is another player who rarely gets a game then is expected to be up to speed. He got game time, didn't drop a blooper and didn't get injured. Result!

Good game fellas. You frustrated us and we didn't take one of the few chances we had so 0-0 is a fair result.

He doesn't get support, he also doesn't play in the middle a lot and he also has a new born baby. I can let him off today, we have hardly any creative players.

Agreed. Just if that had been JC there would have been lots of "he always loses the ball/I don't see what he brings to the side" type stuff.

Great point. FF and VVD the stand out players for me.

Boufal and Tadic together could be interesting.

Liverhampton have 5 or 6 players who can score goals. We have 1.5 players who might score a goal. No contest.

I'm not sure even Marco van Basten could have scored with that service.

Hopefully. Our midfield seem to find it hard as hell to link up with our attack in this formation.

    An excellent point.

If we consider the formations, Liverpools front 3 all fluidly swap and play anywhere across the pitch constantly linking together. Ours, Austin isolated, Redmond and Boufal (Tadic) spend most of the time defending as right and left midfielders It's not rocket science that Liverpool can play loads of one twos through the middle, much similar to Barca.

That's not a comment on just this game, it's an observation on the season so far. Our formation is set up to be defensively solid, rather than e.g. Liverpool's to set up to score but have good enough defenders to not have to worry too much the other end.

Yep, we need a midfielder that can defend but then also link up play to attack and another striker.

Oh and we missed Tadic massively today.

    He's got 6.
Edit more than that actually. 9 in all competitions I think.

Happy to get that game out of the way.
Fortunately Liverpool seemed to have run out of goals against us, having cashed in their score for fun token last season, in the EFL.
Onwards to Prague, on the back of a good result.

Van Dijk's last ditch tackle on Mane was both beautiful and incredibly satisfying

Only found a link for the second half but a very mixed display. Defence was solid, Cedric looked brilliant and it's good to have him back. Van Dijk also very good. same with Romeu.

Redmond was shocking, could barely pass at times. Hard for Austin as he was barely involved, perhaps should've scored the header.

And Jay looked off the pace... again. Bring in someone else and loan him out in January. It suits all parties.

    Overall: Good point!

No shots on target kind of worries me a lil.
