I saw this on a quiet backwater board but the points the poster raised deserve some level of wallie response....

I have never understood why Millwall fans are so obsessed with West Ham
You have been in the same league as them about twice in 120 years
Financially they turn over more in a day than Millwall do in 3 years
They have at least 10 times as many fans (apart from when Millwall play at Wembley)
What is the link, apart from pen1s envy?

The rivalry between us and them is one of the longest-standing and most bitter in English football. Our two teams, then known as Millwall Athletic and Thames Ironworks, both originated in the East End of London, and were located under three miles apart - we were formed in 1885 (34 years before you lot <laugh>) and them 10 years later. Both sets of supporters were predominantly dockers at shipyards on either side of the River Thames. Consequently, each set of fans worked for rival firms who were competing for the same business; this intensified the tension between the teams. We first played against each other in the 1899–1900 FA Cup. In 1910 Millwall moved south of the River Thames and the teams were no longer East London neighbours. Even so, our derbies retained their passion and both sets of supporters still consider the other club their main rival. Before the First World War our teams met 60 times in just 16 years, mostly in the Southern and Western Football Leagues. True, our teams have usually competed in different divisions since, spending only 12 seasons in the same tier of the Football League. We have played a total of 39 times in league and cup competitions since 1916.

Now copy the anoracks post and substitute Millwall for Leeds and West Ham for Man U and the post would make much more sense <ok>

I will let someone not at work copy you the story of the press bias against us and for them.

Amazing how far apart Leeds and the Wallies now are. Wallies hacking it around against Bolton with 100 away fans, the mighty Leeds have stadium packed to the rafters with 38k fans for the visit of Newcastle. Thats almost Millwalls total support over an entire season. In fact, theyve nearly more fans on here than they bring to an away match <doh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>
