Was bored on my break today so looked at a few papers to see what was going on (not to look at the totty at all :bandit:)

Flick to the back pages to see several columns predicting finishing positions in this years Premier League..

In one column of about 6 pundits 3 had put Newcastle to finish 18th and some others predicted we would finish 19th!!!

I'm aware we are certainly in a battle to make sure we survive, however looking at the squads now surely you cant put us in the bottom three!!!

The size of the average pundits brain is smaller then that of a worm!!!

Im I going crazy or does the media want Newcastle to fail?Just for their pleasure in selling more papers or are they just extremely stupid and think anyone above Manchester is in Scotland!

Because we have had a poor pre season everybody assumes we will struggle. I see it differently, we can have a good season and when people predict us to fail we always prove them wrong!

bookmark them, so at the end of the season when they're saying "i always knew newcastle would finish comfortably mid table" you can remind them they werent saying that at the start of the season

A worm would easily win a battle of wits against Robbie Savage.

How do you work that out? Carroll and Nolan have gone, Barton and Enrique will follow. We've signed Cabaye, Marveaux and Ba, and Ben Arfa will be like a new signing. That's nowhere near as strong in my opinion, and morale has been destroyed.

We'll be mired in it next season. <ok>

It was in a paper pull out thing, looked at daily star and may have been mirror aswell but cant find it on there sites..

But I have seen it says we have accepted a bid for enrique wtf?

p.s Id pay to see Savage pit his wit against a worm, such a low budget yet entertaining show!!

    - Ben Arfa and Gosling played 5 games put together last season, they are effectively new signings.
    - Cabaye is an improvement on Nolan
    - Ba isnt far off Carroll, proved by the fact they both scored 13 goals last season
    - Marveaux, Abeid, Obertan in make the squad stronger
    - Ferguson and Vuckic will have improved on last season
    - Taylor will play more games than Williamson, so defence has improved
    - Barton is unlikely to leave
    - Enrique hasnt left yet, bid hasnt even been accepted by us yet

We'll see. I said 13th last season and wasn't far off, I'm going for 16th this season. I think we'll stay up but it'll be uncomfortable.

as per other posts the negativity is really pissing me off now. we're prob the same level as we were last season and theres still 4 weeks till transfer deadline day, plenty of time to get more in even if they're just on loan.

<ok> Agree, we have a stronger side but still could be stronger.

Also I wouldn't worry as much as some about 'morale being destroyed'. We've signed a ton of new players all of whom seem to get on pretty damn well from what little we've seen, a lot of them share a native tongue too so are more likely to get along better too. Barton and Enrique might be whining in public but that doesnt mean Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Marveaux, Ba, Tiote etc are 'feeling the effects', also seems pretty unlikely they'll even care much about the plight and angst of the players who have recently left since they would have barely met them if at all.

I actually think we will finish 10th and will win against arsenal and the mackems.

Cabaye, Ba, Marveaux and Obertan are good signings in my opinion. All we need now is a striker and then we can be done for the summer, and if we're not doing so well around christmas time then we can bring another player in.

And pundits talk ****e! Andy Gray tipped us for relegation last season..
Does anyone else think Andy Gray resembles a snowman?
