Markus Liebherr's memorial game Great oppertunity for Adkins to maybe try out a few fringe/young players that might not get much of a look in over the season. Back to 7 subs for this game as well because its the cup. Hope to see a decent crowd there, maybe 10,000-15,000. Does anyone know if the flag is going to be there and where it will be ? Im going to the game myself, how many of you Not606er's going ? Who would you pick ? My team would be: Bart Butterfield Fonte Martin Dickson De Ridder Schneiderlin Chaplow Holmes Doble Lambert Picked Martin and Fonte because i hope they can keep playing regularly together and form a decent partnership and Lambert to give Doble some guidence up the front, although Connolly has been asked to take him under his wing but i think its too much of a risk to play him on the Tuesday night, save him for the league.
not going but i agree with your team, obv except dickson for me with harding or reeves playing instead would also be good to see ward-prowse or anothe rpromising youngster on the bench
===============Bart=============== =Butts===Seaborne======Stephens===Dicko= =Holmes==Chaplow====Schneiderlin===Forte= ========Guly=======Doble========== I wouldn't take any risks on any of the team that started Saturday. I'd give young Stephens and Doble a game to really show what they can do and if they can become good back-up or even more. Doubt there will be a big crowd there on tuesday but with being close to a year ago that our saviour passed away, that might attract more people.
bart butterfield martin seabourne/jaidi dickson forte chaplow schneiderlin holmes barnard (if fit, if not then guly) doble subs kelv de ridder jaidi/seabourne hammond reeves chambo lambert
Did Adkins mention a injury to Jaidi after the Leeds game? didn't listen to the interview so don't know..
Not a big crowd, guessing under 10,000, as OS says no buses running because there's not enough going. However, after Saturday may get a few walk-ups. Important to keep the momentum going and use this cup competition to keep some second-stringers happy. I'm always torn about cups. Love a nice cup run and having a winning mentality, but not worth risking players. However, it's too early to save players for the League, so would guess Nigel will treat this as a valuable match to test things out on and to improve match fitness.
I will be there. I hope Adkins does have one of the youngsters on the bench. Seem to remember that this fixture last year was at home to Brighton. Pardew gave a run out to a young sub named Alex somebody? Scored a great goal. Whatever happened to him?
Too many excuses for my liking, I know I missed the Liebherr Trophy and am still regretting it, but I don't understand why this game should have a small crowd. I wouldn't mind us going all the way, and would be hacked off if we did and I had missed some of the games. I agree it is a chance to start a few of the Squad that have missed out already.
Assuming current injury allows: Bart Butterfield Jaidi Martin Dickson De Ridder Morgan Chaplow Holmes Lambert Barnard Davis, Richardson, Seaborne, Hammond, Guly, Forte, Doble
What makes that slip more annoying is that I was there! Superb goal from lallana, 2-0 in your cupfinal, all that. I wont bother correcting it. I knew it was Bournemouth, but thanks for the prod!
Won't be there. 30 miles there and back for a game I'm not fussed about and £14 for a mate to go is just ridiculous for a Carling Cup tie against Torquay. We'll win comfortably, hopefully with some fringe players getting some game-time and confidence out of it.
