    SAFC v HULL.jpg
Saturday 19th November 15:00, Sunderland host Hull City at the Stadium of Light.
Last time out both teams enjoyed a welcome win with Sunderland winning 2-1 away at Bournemouth. Hull City ended a dismal 5 game losing streak by beating Southampton 2-1 at home.
David Moyes got his first Premier League win of the season while sitting in the stand at the Vitality and will be looking for another 3 points to close the gap on their relegation zone rivals Hull City.

Sunderland AFC will pay tribute to club legend Charlie Hurley on Saturday and fans are being asked to take their seats early to ensure a warm Wearside welcome for the club’s player of the century.

    Match Appointments:
    Referee: Lee Mason
Linesmen: A Nunn and S Ledger
    Fourth Official: C Pawson

Match Day referee Mason has officiated six games in 2016/17 and has shown 23 yellow cards and 0 red cards. His highest card count this season was 7 yellows in the game between West Bromwich Albion and Manchester City in October.

Head to Head (Last 39 games)
    Won 19
    Lost 14
    Drawn 6

Hull City have won their last two league trips to the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland need one more point to surpass 600 points in the Premier League.
Both sides have scored just two first-half goals all season in the Premier League.

    Lawro’s prediction: 2-0

    Team Selection:
    Hull City

Hull City will be without strikers Abel Hernandez and Will Keane and Adama Diomande. Keane has been ruled out for the season with knee ligament damage, Hernandez hasa groin problem and Diomande sits out the final game of a three-match ban. Shaun Maloney is also out with a back problem.

    Sunderland
Sunderland’s walking wounded Sebastian Larsson, Vito Mannone, Adnan Januzaj are all back in training and could be back in contention. Larsson is expected to replace the suspended Steven Pienaar.
Wahbi Khazri is fit after his mid-week boxing match while on duty with Tunisia. <laugh>
Fabio Borini, Jan Kirchhoff and Jack Rodwell remain sidelined. Lee Cattermole has undergone hip surgery and will be unavailable for at least 4 months.

    Thanks to the Guardian
I hope that is not the Sunderland team though - Rodwell <monster>

    Key Men

    Hull City
    Robert Snodgrass

please log in to view this image

Snodgrass showed his class against Southampton and will be the main threat posed by Hull City. 60% of Hull's goals this season have come from set-pieces. However, they have conceded an unrivalled 10 goals from dead-ball situations too.

    Sunderland
    Jermain Defoe

please log in to view this image

Jermain Defoe's next goal will be his 150th in the Premier League. He would become the eighth player to reach this landmark.

    My two new pence...

I’ll be hoping for back to back wins to finally get our season started, Jermain gets his goal and we win 1-0.
    Easier said than done.
    Ha’wayawayaway the lads.

    Betting (Coral)
    Sunderland: EVS
    Hull City: 11/5
    Draw: 3/1

I don't have much of a feeling either way on this one, we don't usually play well against Hull but as someone else said that might have been bitter ol' Bruce getting them fired up for it. If I had to say then I'd go for a home win.

Btw I'd say Anichebe is our key man, if he plays like he did last match then I believe we'll win.

Hmmm - guess who sacked Mike Phelan...

I was going to put Victor as star man but saw that he has only ever scored in consecutive Premier League games once - So didn't want to jinx him <laugh>

I go for a wine in this one even though we are just about well matched. We may have won our last games but just about spawned our way through.

From the outside looking in it looked as though playing two up front made a huge difference for you guys a couple of weeks ago, I was hoping we could do the same but both Hernandez and Keane getting injured means we can't. I imagine Snodgrass will play behind Mbokani. I think you'll nick it 1-0, either Defoe or Anichebe to score.

The Guardian obviously don't know much about us, Maguire is a centre back, Clucas will be left back and Snodgrass is likely to play behind Mbokani.

I think it will be a draw, we always seem to have a few false dawns before we get going properly.

We're pretty weak all over the park at the moment. Defoe is dangerous and Pickford has been out of this world. But everyone plays like they're strangers. Enjoy the game too fella. <ok>:)
