    I didn't say that we would be getting a new striker because the wages had been reduced. I was giving you access to a rumour.

    No but you're certainly implying it by the sound of the first post.

    Strovolos, there are "rumours" from websites and forums and then there are "rumours" from people who have contacts inside the club, which type are we looking at? Olofinjana is still injured isn't he, so doubt it's him; or perhaps there's word on what will happen to our Jimmy?

    I heard a whisper from a friend of a friend that it's Ghilas and if it happens we might bring in another forward. But there are a lot of "ifs" at this moment. Even at best I doubt the forward-in will be a blow-yor-socks-off job.

    If we could get rid of Ghilas, sack Bullard and sign Pusic and Ayala up, then things are looking rosy off the pitch. The only place you could argue we might need new players after that is CM and CF but only to add quality rather than making up the numbers - and that is key.

    Can't believe anyone has enquired abt Ghilas, he's never blown any socks off himself.. could be a pay-off, thank you and goodbye job.. If we manage to sack Bullard, we have some good lawyers.. Neil Hudgell by any chance? when does the transfer window close?

    Would anyone on the continent take Ghilas? Maybe been back in a French speaking country might suit him.

    Maybe someone from Portugal. He played very well here. Maybe Guimaraes cause they are in Europa League this year...

    Been = past tense

    Being = present tense

    You get this consistently wrong every time you post. It's not important but it just bugs me ;)

    You're commenting on grammar when the "i" in your name should be a capital letter...

    The 'T's in your name shouldn't be capital. User names are exempt for obvious reasons.

    I make sure my grammar is right all the time, and I edit it if I **** my typing up.

    Edit: I ****ed the typing up ;)

    Meh, it was more a tongue in cheek comment than anything. But my eyes hurt when I red my name as "Mattthetiger" so I make the beginning letters as capitals :).

    good call, I think he's one of those who is better suited to a hotter climate, or Braga the Europa League finalists?

    I think we have plenty in midfield. We've got good cover on the wings (Brady, Pusic, Koren and Stewart when fit) having 2 wing backs that like to get forward, and wingers that get forward then a central midfield that can hold and pass to the attacking wingers is more than ample. We defo need another striker, not a big man as Adebola can fulfil that role off the bench. I wouldn't want to start with a big man as Friday demonstrated it creates hit and hope (hoof) football.

    A tenacious aggressive forward.

    We tried to get a creative central midfielder and failed. I'm sure NP will still want one.

    I agree we are short up front at the moment, however, that implies Adebola and McLean aren't good enough (which is true) and I doubt NP will be able to use that as a reason to go cap in hand to Pappa Allam, unless someone goes out (see above)!

    As an idea this. Assuming that City cannot offload Ghilas abroad then, Take La Fondra from Rotherham and send Ghilas to Rotherham. Rotherham value ALaF at 500k and i guess that 5k a week wages would be enough for ALaF. City to make up the short fall though.
    For sure ALaF does not miss from 8 yards out and he has a point to prove. Just a thought.

    Before Friday I would have said Fryatt and Simpson don't miss from 8 yards. They probably won't again.

    Give it a few weeks til deadline day to see if they start finding the net, we all had faith in them a week ago.

    Oh mate this is not a slight on Fryatt and Simpson. better players than them miss the same i know. saw it at other champtionship games over the weekend. It happens.

    No i was thinking of how we can get rid of Ghilas and get in a 5th striker that would not cost that much.
