Well said, I completely agree. I'm not sure who QPR play when but stats show that more often than not newly promoted teams tend to get more points in the 1st half than the 2nd, the opposite is true of title challenging sides (apart from Arsenal ) QPR's season won't be decided on taking points off the likes of United, Chelsea and City or even Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool but it is imperative they compete with everybody else in the league, even strong teams outside that top 6 such as Everton, Villa, Newcastle and Sunderland. QPR need a point next Sunday, something to keep the mood positive amongst the fans and players. Even a narrow loss wouldn't be that bad. Wigan's performance against us in 05/06 was the best I have ever seen from a newly promoted team. To this day I have not seen an all round performance as good and I can't see how we won that game. They may have lost but because they played so well and completely outplayed us the result was irrelevant and spirit in the camp was still high. They went on and had a really good season and survived comfortably, I think QPR need to emulate that and just throw caution to the wind on the opening day and see what happens
8th sounds good to me, I predicted 11th with last year's team. A few injuries could hurt us badly though
Have a search to see where the journalists/pundits thought we would be last year in the championship ... mid table on average at the best ... most experts went for Boro ... Claridge and many wrote us off I for one love the fact that no one fancies us and so does NW its how he works
Oddball, you're turning up everywhere like some sort of deranged Cyber Jack-in-the-box. You're hanging around every thread like a preying Mantis ready to pounce on any piece of rationality that pops up. North, get a grip of this nutter before he turns this forum into a basket case.

While we've got Warnock, we have hope.
There's one huge difference. That was in the Football League. This is the toughest League in the world
No its not Swords ... it may be of a higher standard and profile but the Npower Championship still is regarded as the toughest league in the world
And the Premier League contains several of the richest clubs in the world, a number of very well founded clubs, and those who have managed to succeed in the Championship, trying to stay there. I understand what you are saying, but it can't be right.
For some reason I'm feeling strangely enthusiastic about the coming season. Not top 10 type enthusiasm, but enough points to stay up. I can't explain it because it is slightly out of character.
Well at least there won't be anything to moan about on this forum this season... as we all seem to know what our fate is
