Firm not playing if handy for us, it's just the travel jet lag that might be an issue but hopefully if they get a kip on plane van try come back to GMT and be ok. Have a couple more days to acclimatise.
Jurgen Klopp meeting the press 11am today, we know about Lallana, Countinho and Firmino. Liverpool team news - Wijnaldum to replace Adam Lallana for Jurgen Klopp at Southampton http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor...iverpool-team-news-wijnaldum-replace-12188524
Karius, fresh, no international duty for him, good to go. Clyne, just played against Spain, no issues, good to go. Matip and Lovern didn't get selected for International duty, good to go. Milner retired from International duty he's good to go. So defence should be pretty fresh! Can, not picked, so good to go! Lallana picked up a knock but we've a decent replacement in Gini for him, so al good! Henderson, played both games but came through OK, so he'll be good to go! Midfield isn't in too bad a shape then! Jet lag is going to be the only issue for our Brazilian due (maybe a bit of fatigue for Coutinho).. Firmino hardly played, so he's good to go! Mane has been back ages ago, also South Africa being on a similar Time Zone to the UK, he shouldn't have had any Jet lag issues, he's good to go! If Coutinho looks off the pace then he could start on the bench with the likes of Sturridge or Origi coming in for him. So, overall, not a bad starting XI and will have decent options from the bench. Only issue.. Southampton, regardless of their recent form, are a bloody good side and this will be FAR from an easy game, we need to learn from our lessons last year and if we do get ahead, we kill them off.. Then again, the 3 players that ran the show for them against us in last seasons comeback are no longer there.. Wanjama, Mane and Pele.. Tadic is quality and Redman too.. Austin is a handful, however, we keep them quite, we maybe able to get a positive result. They've a decent defence too.. but then again, they wouldn't have play against a front 5 like ours yet!
Klopp on Lallana: "With Adam we don't know yet exactly. We haven't done a scan until now. It will be close. Hopefully not too serious."
Good, they'd have had a nice kip, today off, may a very light session this evening, another early night and a good session with the team tomorrow, before we fly down, so be good to go!
Klopp on Sturridge: "He came back and was happy to see us again. I could see it in his face. That's a good sign."
KLOPP ON COUTINHO The Brazilian whizkid has once again been linked with Barcelona in the Spanish press... but Klopp says: "My opinion is Phil feels very well here. We also hope and think his future is here at Liverpool. But everybody forgets that he's still very young. So people say he is the player they dreamt of but he is only 24, with a lot of space for improvement and development. Now he is at an age where the skills mix with experience give him more consistency. That’s it. He’s getting better and better." What I saw is that they had to replace a very good manager and they made a great replacement. Redmond quite a good choice to replace Pelle. They kept Tadic – a very good player. All around it’s a good team with good players. The scouting is obviously really good. I think that’s how the job should be done, but we want to go there and win, rather than celebrate Southampton's scouting department." KLOPP ON STURRIDGE "My opinion about Daniel never changed. It’s good. He came back and was happy to see us again. I could see it in his face, and his training and attitude –the fun he had. That's a good sign. He could probably be more happy if he played more games." After being brought up to speed, this was his response: "What I can say is that I feel for the players a lot. We are on the sunny side, with all the money we earn, but maybe it’s a surprise that, in the end, there’s a human being behind it. Maybe we still be professional and say ‘no I won’t drink and if you smoke put 20 yards between me and you’ because I don’t want to be a passive smoker. That’s not how life works. This generation is the most professional in football. All the guys we all admire, all the legends, they drank like devils, and smoked like crazy and were still good players. Nobody does it anymore. It’s all about timing and when you are in the wrong place at the wrong time it’s not good. I have no idea where Wayne was but I'm pretty sure it wasn't so serious." LIVERPOOL TEAM NEWS Look who just bounced through the door at Melwood! No wonder he's happy... Jurgen Klopp side are top of the Premier League! However, Adam Lallana is a doubt for a reunion with Southampton when Liverpool travel to St Mary's on Saturday after picking up a knock with England. Let's hear what Klopp has to say... "With Adam, we don't know yet exactly. We haven't done a scan until now. It will be close. Report: Southampton sweating on the fitness of four players ahead of Liverpool clash Southampton are sweating on the fitness of as many as four of their main first team players following the international break for Saturday's game against Liverpool, according to a report in the Daily Echo. Fraser Forster, Dusan Tadic, Ryan Bertrand and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are also said to be fitness doubts which will give manager Claude Puel cause for concern. http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/11/1...weating-on-the-fitness-of-four-players-ahead/
Don't know, but that Tadic is a hard little batard. Had his nose broken and just carried on regardless
With the mount of time it takes us to turn them into a decent players (Lallana, Lovren) I think we should look elsewhere.
Current Southampton squad is quite good, but not sure we'll be dinning there again.. for a while. It appears Klopps latest targets are from outside the UK for now, that could change..
