In my business life I've done many deals and negotiated umpteen contracts. I can't tell you how much a personal relationship counts more times than you'd think. Would I expect a politician/luvvie to understand, you're having a laugh.
I don't doubt that but in my (admittedly limited) experience, I would guess that it's very much industry-specific, and very much dependent on the type of deal you're after. If it's something where you need to pro-actively work together then of course personal relationship counts massively, but for simple financial deals where you're after the best offer, that goes out of the window. I'd imagine the former (your example) is the most common and desirable though of course.
'but for simple financial deals' - Like the ones that take 10 years with the EU ? Trump's been quoted that he could do a deal with the UK in a WEEK ! Yeh I know - very ambitious to say the least. Who knows, who do we trust ? I'll stick with an American rather than 27 European countries with differing issues.
Very very true,DT will do business with us,the EU has taken from us for a very very long time. Milking the cow comes to mind. Glad when we get out,the thieving barstewards.
Why is this written as if it's an argument against my point? I'm not disagreeing with you. Though I would be amazed if the deals that you're basing on from personal experience are anything like an international deal representing entire countries across continents
Only 22 ? Germany and France aside the rest are probably on the scrounge, with the Germans and French creating their own social, economic and security problems with almost unlimited immigration for the former until recently, and paying the price of having colonies back in the day for the latter.
This mass migration is causing carnage especially in Germany. We are not being feed the truth by the media. The German and French will be voting out their present leaders just like the UK and USA.
the problems with eastern Europe is they have a high number who want more by going elsewhere and earning it at home, as their countries are poor in relation .. we have a number from the countries like Bulgaria Romania fringe ex Russian states that are responsible for swathes of criminal aqctivity if you believe the info leaked .. that are joining the hordes looking for easy pickings and welfare .. we cannot knock Poland since the 40's there has been an affinity between us and them.. yes we had loads of little enclaves until x years ago till Calais and the release of other eastern euro countries joining the EU, and a lot are returning home as their country gets "richer"
Most Polish Ex pats I come across (and I come across many in my line of work) are hard working, decent people with good ethics.
I would agree totally as there are a huge number who settled in my area after ww2,one of my best mates is Polish but I still see gangs of Roma in the daytime on the streets.A happy balance is needed. Sent from my victara using Tapatalk
