Perhaps those conclusion jumpers from yesterday might want to comment?

The Guardian's crime correspondent, Sandra Laville, reports:

The revelation will fuel the fury in Tottenham about the killing of Mark Duggan by armed officers.

It also undermines suggestions that there was an exchange of fire between Duggan and the police before he died.

The bullet which was found lodged in the radio of one of the officers at the scene is still undergoing forensic tests. But reliable sources have said the first ballistics examinations suggested it was a police issue bullet.

These are very distinct as the Metropolitan Police uses dum dum type hollowed out bullets designed not to pass through an object.

The early suggestion from the IPCC was that the Met officers had returned fire after someone in the minicab opened fire. But the result of the ballistics early test suggests both shots fired came from the police.

If it was designed to pass through objects, then why did it stick in a radio?
It's all rumours at the moment and a bit irresponsible to report it, to be honest.

    Killing spree in the US...

the IPCC are corrupt. Their basis for investigation is not to find the truth
but how to make the police service look innocent

    coppers investigating coppers?

There is always more to the initial story in these incidences

I remember the stoke riots or alleged
I worked with the superintendent then and basically they had gone to a major meeting to say 'what riots'
before they could they were praised, so they basically took the credit for something that didnt happen

Just spoke to my mate whos down there now and he said soon there will be alot more people than the riot in tottenham.
He said alot of people are armed with bricks bottles and anything else they can throw. The main reason for the rioting though is Enfields retail shops.
anyway im off to go take another look and get involved with the banter. Il update what happened when i get home

    You're right, there.
    Sorry.

Hollow points are designed to do more damage, though.
I didn't realise that our police used them.

I suppose it's better to do a lot of damage to what they're aiming at, instead of risking the bullet going clean through and damaging something that they're not aiming at.
Doesn't really work when they're accidentally shooting each other, though.

Obunge said that he and Duggan's family had seen the IPCC this afternoon, and had asked about the community rumours that the bullet recovered from an officer was a police issue one, but were not told that it was. (From the Guardian link you posted)
