Consumer champion Which? found 49% of last year’s offers were cheaper before or after the event. The Black Friday price was the cheapest in just 8% of deals. About 38% were cheaper in the weeks afterwards. Pete Moorey, Which? head of campaigns, said: “If you’re thinking about starting your Christmas shopping around Black Friday, do your research as some ‘deals’ may not be all they’re cracked up to be.” But retailers insisted they were committed to giving customers the best deals. Black Friday is an import from the US, where it is the day after Thanksgiving and traditionally when shops launch pre-Christmas sales.
No thanks. Avoid the shops at all costs as they are full of people completely losing it for a £10 reduction. Madness.
Apparently 50 is a special age to reach, and in light of my reaching this milestone a few days ago, my wife has booked for us to go to River Cottage for a bit of grub - has anybody been there, and if so, was it any good? Thanx
Not been to River Cottage but I have been 50. I strongly recommend it; it's one of the better ones. I reached a personal best of days lived in that year. Vin

That was short and sweet. Was going to walk to the gym when the heavens opened....so it's the pub later instead.
Two days a week I walk a mile to the gym and do an hours class for heart patients....I am a gym bunny compared to most there. I chickened out too soon....if I hadn't changed arrangements, I could probably have gone.
